One thing you might consider, especially if you're set on the saddle interior, is to buy the dealer's exterior and interior paint sealant/protector. It's quite expensive ($1,200) and most will advise against it. I believe the program provides a warranty against depredation of color, etc. What happens if it does lose color, etc...you probably want to read the fine print and ask a ton of questions.

Re: 2013 Altitude or wait for 2014 models?

I've had the saddle interior, including the dash (Summit) for a year and half now with zero issues. I don't use any care products on the leather. I do garage the JGC and when it's parked out in the hot AZ sun I frequently use my windshield sun screen.

So far, so good.

At $1200 I would hope no one out there would be crazy enough to give their dealer an $1150 tip. That's just plain outrageous!

Yup, but remember the price is negotiable. $1,200 is the list price, I'm sure they'd be willing to offer it much cheaper. Some folks like it (interior protection protects against spills/stains, etc.)... other despise the concept entirely.

Again the other bonus is that it provides an additional warranty...protects against discoloration, tears (limited to certain size), exterior paint, etc.

So it may not be right for everyone, but at the right price and assuming the fine print doesn't limit the benefits, it might make sense for someone worried about the longevity of the saddle interior.

Yep. I bought a 12oz bottle of Ultima Paint Guard plus in 2009 and just now running out....and that is using it on 2 cars several times a yr for more of a shine. Have a bottle of Ultima Interior Guard that will prolly last 5 yrs or more!

Re: 2013 Altitude or wait for 2014 models?

Seems like the timing might be okay for a threadjack. ; ) I have a local dealer who wants 38.5K for a Larado x with "e pack" power roof and the redic 20" nav package. The car would already have nav so why the hell someone would spent 1200 or whatever it is on 20" jeep wheels is beyond me, but that's the spec. I think I'm gonna wait and get a 2014 CRD stripped limited which give me leather and the upgraded 4wd, the two must haves for me. That number seem high for a 2013??

Re: 2013 Altitude or wait for 2014 models?

When I build it on the Jeep site it's $40,605 they have it stickered @$41,105.
A basic '13 limited is $39,720 seems like a better deal, pano vs power roof, no 20" wheels but everything else..
I'd even pay another 3k or so for the '14 CRD. No idea how much the diesel is actually going to be tho.

<edit> I just read some of your posts on another thread. It seems like the price should be closer to $35700. $38500 seems high.

Yeah I'd aim for more. As I stated I paid about 13.5% off MSRP. I went with the hemi option which had another rebate, so you'll have to take that into consideration.

One more thing to note, the jeep website will show you the MSRP after rebates (if you click on the * it'll show you how they calculated). So the real MSRP mostly likely is the vehicle sticker. HOWEVER...be sure the dealer isn't marking up the MSRP. I came across one deal who marked up all their stickers by $5Kish. They were scumbags (for that and other reasons).

One more thing, if I were you I'd bump up to the limited at that price. It'll come with some nice features like HID lamps, etc.

That's what I'm thinking. A limited will have slightly better resale too. I have 2 little girls who would love the headrest vid screens. 2014 limited CRD at 13% under msrp. Thanks I have some ammo for dealing now. Much appreciated.
