Introducing the 2013 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk - Arriving in showrooms October 2012

Production start: 9/25/12

[JeepGarage.org/Wk2Jeeps.com - September 1st, 2012] [updated September 11th, 2012]

For the 2013, Jeep announces the production version of the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk first seen as a concept at the 2012 Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah. The Grand Cherokee Trailhawk shows that even the most awarded SUV ever, and the most capable Grand Cherokee ever, can up its game.

The 2013 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk is available with a V-6 or V-8 engine and includes the following capability-enhancing equipment:

- 18-inch Goodyear Silent Armor all-terrain tires with Kevlar reinforcement
- Solid steel rock rail body protection
- Quadra-Lift air suspension, with nearly 11 inches of ground clearance
- Selec-Terrain traction control system with five settings: Snow, Rock, Sand/Mud, Sport and Auto
- A Rear Electronic Limited-slip Differential (ELSD, V-8) that can transfer up to 100% of engine’s torque to one rear wheel in order to keep the Jeep moving forward even in the most extreme situations
- Quadra-Track II or Quadra-Drive II (V-8) with a two-speed transfer case to help conquer the toughest obstacles

The Trailhawk is easily recognized with new signature red Trailhawk and Trail Rated badging and tow hooks, black-surround headlamps and a unique grey on the grille surround, side mirrors rear light bar, 4x4 badge and five-spoke 18-inch aluminum wheels. A black hood decal with red accent stripe helps reduce glare from the sun which can help the driver in extreme off-road situations.

Trailhawk-specific interior touches include black leather and performance suede seats with red accent stitching and Mopar slush floor mats front and rear.

The 2013 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk is available in Bright White, Brilliant Black, Mineral Gray, Maximum Steel and Deep Cherry Red.

I guess I am going to be the outsider here but I think overall it looks like crap. There's too many different colors on the outside. On the white one you have grey, white, red, black and finally chrome. The red tow hooks are cheesy as can be.

The interior on the other hand is nice.

I agree.

edit: changed my mind, I like it, especially in black, red, and mineral gray and white's cool too.

Is my understanding correct that in terms of offroad capability the only differences between my 2012 Overland 5.7 Hemi - Offroad Adventure Package II and the Trailhawk are:

1. The tyres;
2. The rock rails;
3. No front recovery hooks (but this is because I am from Europe and my Overland is export model).

If so, does anyone know whether the rock rails will be sold separately (by Mopar, I guess) and what will be their part number?

What is the part number for the trailhawk specific modified mopar rock rails? Im definitely interested in these over the standard mopar rails with the tubes
The Mopar parts catalog isn't listing those part #'s yet. It only lists the plastic door sill trim mouldings found on all the other WK2's mounted with six plastic rivits, not the steel Trailhawk rock rails that look to be mounted on three metals studs w/nuts and washers.
The Jeep production code for these rockrails is {MMU}.

I'll post those #'s as soon as they become available. :thumbsup: Right now "most" Dealer parts counter guys have no clue, and try to tell me these parts are not factory installed OEM, but dealer installed rockrails from the Accessory Catalog ,{Mopar part#82212157}, but they clearly are not the same! :(

Stay tuned! I'm on it!
