Since my instruments/entertainment is already better than anything the '14s offer (and with more flexibility) if what you want is essentially a Laredo then you are better off with the '13 if well under $30k.
Anyone know why on a '14 if you get the towing package (not available on Laredo), you lose the ECO mode ?
ps turns out the V6 only gains about a 5% mpg improvement (EPA) with the 8 speed. Would need to use a lot of gas to break even.
8 speed transmission, higher tow capacity, instrument panel, redesigned lights, these are things off the top of my head that are in the 14's favor. It ended up being a $1200 difference between the two minus rebates and deals. We had to order a vehicle anyway because we wanted a Laredo with qt2 and a tow package with heated seats and remote start, to get these options in black Forrest green required a order either way.
To answer your other question you do not lose eco mode with the towing package.
Ps all of this was about a Laredo E, which is pretty much all you would find, with any kind of discount the price difference between a Laredo and a Laredo E would be about $900.
