Re: 2013 Rear window tint

Very odd. Assembly goof? Check the glass for any OE markings. If there aren't any, I'd be worried.

Re: 2013 Rear window tint

Ummmmmm...........did you actually inspect the vehicle before you purchased it???? When I buy a car, I conduct a detailed inspection of every inch to make sure there is no damage, dings, scratches, etc. How could you have not noticed that the back window had no tint? And when you did notice it, why didn't you take it back to the dealership and make them replace it with a factory tinted window? Sounds like a fake story.

Well considering this is my first Jeep and SUV I did not know that this was something abnormal until I went to the tint shop and he told me. Second I picked up the car at night but the very next morning I did visually inspect the body for scratches etc. and it was perfect. Third the dealer is not down the road from me and would cost more in gas to get there than the $65 I payed to tint the window so I figured I'd just bite the bullet. But yes this is a completely fake story and I made up the entire thing just for your amusement... Thanks for contributing absolutely nothing helpful or informative. I would never take anything serious coming from a Red Sox fans mouth anyway...

Re: 2013 Rear window tint

I'd ask for the build sheet or the very least ask the dealer...either it was a special order or maybe the rear glass was damaged in transit or while sitting on lot and dealer ordered the wrong glass. Very strange, regardless.

Firstly, the factory glass is dyed, not tinted. The colour is added to the glass during manufacture rather than applying a film. The dye offers no UV protection and less heat reflection, which is one of the reasons, along with aesthetics, why many have tint added over the dyed glass.

Secondly, I have an export '13 and mine has darker rear windscreen and windows.

Very odd. At least it was only $65.

Re: 2013 Rear window tint

Maybe someone broke the window and replace it with a non factory part.
