Any update on this? Did they recall the recall?

Re: 2014 - 15 Shifter Recall - Update

I was to told midday Saturday by my service advisor that the download for the update was unavailable from FCA. He indicated vehicles that were in house for the update prior to the suspension of the download are sitting at the dealership awaiting further info. I have been using this same service advisor since 2004 for my current and previous GC. He is always straight with me and I trust his word. He indicated that as soon as he gets an update from FCA, he would let me know and reschedule me.

Re: 2014 - 15 Shifter Recall - Update

I would question the dealer on that, I am a FCA Jeep technician and the s27 recall shifter update is still available at this time and has been since it came out. I will triple check though today when we get one in for the recall.

EDIT: Just had a 2014 SRT in and scanned and it had the recall available and the updates were ready to perform as of now.

Re: 2014 - 15 Shifter Recall - Update

Might be a system issue at his dealer then? Are they really taking that long that you should consider getting a loaner? Thinking about getting this done Saturday, but if it's taking more than the 2 1/2 hour estimate, might have to drop it off before heading into work during the week.

From the time the jeep gets in my stall and I get it hooked up to WiTech and it takes 2hrs once I actually click the start button, so with the added time of the service adviser writing up the jeep and a technician pulling the jeep up ect. I can see the 2.5hrs estimate.

Re: 2014 - 15 Shifter Recall - Update

I had mine done ('15 Summit EcoDiesel) a couple of weeks ago. They ran into an issue re-flashing the last module, so they had to keep it overnight. Have noticed nothing at all different in the day to day driving of the car.

Re: 2014 - 15 Shifter Recall - Update

My dealer requested a full day to do my update. I gave him 36 hours since I was traveling for work anyway. I noticed no differences. Actually my transmission feels a little smoother in the low gears at cold start (but I'm sure that was a long overdue flash that I missed).

You won't notice and changes if you only get the recall done. Not unless you need to notice them (aka you leave it in N)

You can also now turn the jeep off with it in gear and it will "autopark" kinda fun to play with.

Oil change w/filter, air filter, cabin air filter, rotate tires, full inspection AND S27 recall--4 hours in shop. No noticeable difference in driving; goes into P automatically when you open the drivers door.

I was having issues with the shining in lower gears and asked my dealer to look at it prior to the update. The Service Advisor told me that because they'd be flashing the TCM and PCM (if memory serves me correct) that the update would reset the transmission, so effectively it re-learns your driving. Effectively correcting the rough shifting I was experiencing between 1-2 at start. I had mine completed over a month ago and the shifting has been greatly improved so far.

Re: 2014 - 15 Shifter Recall - Update

I dropped mine off this Saturday and picked it up today (called on Monday that all services had been performed but I was out of town) and just tried the autopark feature and it remains in drive/what ever gear. So appears mine did not complete the software update even though I was told it was finished.
