when you tested did you follow the conditions 100.0% for the auto-park to engage? All of these things must happen within 5 secs of the shifter "request" for P or it will not engage auto-park...also 4WD-Lo prevents the auto-park feature no matter what...

Like he said, make sure your seat belt is unbuckled or it will never autopark if the recall was done correctly

That feature right there is the only reason I'm considering getting the flash done

I got mine done today and tested it. Pretty cool and something that should of been there from the beginning.

Re: 2014 - 15 Shifter Recall - Update

Had mine done Thursday. Haven't tested it as I really don't care. I only did it so I don't show any open recalls. Only issue was minor... it had to reload my phone directory. It did it without my input and took less than 1 minute. I don't care to know many people.

Re: 2014 - 15 Shifter Recall - Update

The dealer did my 2014 JGC Limited yesterday (08/12). Dropped it off at 7:30 am and it was done at 1:15pm (plus oil change and tire rotation). No issues. Have not tried the auto park. I was curious about opening the door at speed. I.e., drivers door ajar but I guess so long as it is at speed and/or the seatbelt connected I won't blow up my transmission.

Re: 2014 - 15 Shifter Recall - Update

Autopark also wont engage above 1.2mph to no worry about your transmission exploding.

This is what the recall does. People are pushing the shifter to engage park but missing and getting out of the vehicle to have it roll away.

It wasn't until it recently killed an actor that it made news

Re: 2014 - 15 Shifter Recall - Update

I wish they'd just do it right and install the new shifter from the 16' instead of this band-aid. Unfortunately they've already got our money so this is the cheapest solution.

The main part of the recall is the fact that you can now get out of the jeep with it in gear and it will autopark itself, the autopark when turning key off is kind of a secondary feature.

If they had used this software originally as others had, it wouldn't be considered a band-aid. Jeep isn't being cheap now, they solved the problem. Jeep was cheap three years ago for not thoroughly testing the shifter and avoiding the problem.

Re: 2014 - 15 Shifter Recall - Update

I had my software update done today and works as I read here before, if I open the door at a slow speed with my belt unbuckled, it goes to P and it stops right there, must be pretty hard on transmission and mechanical parts, I tried it once to see if it works but its like a violent stop...so I can tell it works but wont be triyng often.

One more thing that changed...in my dashboard...before I had the lettering "lowering" or "raising" if the GC was put in Park, or I modified the height...now its a different little drawing of the jeep with an arrow pointing up or down...other than that nothing else I noticed.

Rgds to all
