2014 - 15 Shifter Recall - Update

So my 2015 Summit was scheduled to have the shifter recall performed on Saturday. I was scheduled to drop it off Friday evening and pick it up Saturday at noon with a loaner being provided during the process. Just got a call from my service manager a little while ago and was told not to bring my vehicle in. He indicated that FCA has suspended all updates for this recall until further notice. It is not even available to download. He indicated that an updated version is expected to soon be released. Does anyone else have additional info on this?

I guess glad I just waited then. Not due for at least 6 months until my next oil change and will just roll up all the recalls to do by then.

Re: 2014 - 15 Shifter Recall - Update

Mine has already been completed, about a month ago. I checked with my service advisor to see if they've heard anything about this and they have not. Service at my dealership is always on top of things so I figured I'd reach out to them. Now it is entirely possible that the message is still getting out to dealerships so I'm not questioning what you've experienced. I did want to know though if my dealership had heard of this since it impacts my vehicle.

Her suggestion was to contact Jeep and validate with them. Maybe one of the JeepCares team members will see this and provide details on the situation.

This is interesting.

Re: 2014 - 15 Shifter Recall - Update

Made appointment for my update and OLF this afternoon, in person, for next Thur. AM. I told asst. service mgr. that I realized it would take 2 to 3 hours, but will wait. He said some are taking up to 6 hours depending on how many they are doing at one time, so I'll get a loaner. Very nice. I'm impressed. Looking forward to a Challenger SRT, but will settle for 4 year old Dart!

Re: 2014 - 15 Shifter Recall - Update

Maybe its like the sun visor recall where they discovered the recall they were performing was unsat as jeeps were still going up in flames after being fixed so they improved it but they never called the first batch back in that had the unsat first attempted fix.

Yes they did. My '11 had the first fix and I got the recall for the second visor fix a few months ago. Received the recall notice today saying the parts are available and to set up an appointment with my dealer.

I am curious to know if it's true about a stop order on the '14 shifter update. Already had that one done on the wife's car.

guess they like you I had it done long ago on the first unsat version and they never sent anything again to have it redone. not that I want them ripping my headliner down again. 6 recalls has been enough
