Re: 2014 20" pimp daddy wheels

This thread was created so someone could make themselves feel better b/c they got the 18's and not the 20's...... The 18's might be more functional for offroading but the 20's that are offered on the GC actually fit the vehicle for it's size. /

Re: 2014 20" pimp daddy wheels

I like the Overland 20s on the WK2. I don't hate the Overland 20s on the WK2.5, but I prefer the first set, as they're a bit stronger looking. I hate the 20s on the WK2.5 Summit, they look terrible and totally out of place. I would highly recommend anyone buying a WK2.5 Summit to make the dealership buy you a different set of wheels in the deal.

The 20s have quite a bit of sidewall considering their size. My parents have 20s on their MKX and Sport Trac, and they don't have nearly as much sidewall (aka protection from the curb and cushion for ride quality).

I do wish there were more good tire options for the 20s though.

Wrong.

I got exactly what I wanted. Read post #1 for a little insight into my thread starting motives.

Re: 2014 20" pimp daddy wheels

Can anyone provide a photo comparison of the 18 vs the 20 wheels? My dealer found a JGC Limited with everything I want (sunroof, OR2, Nav) but with 18's not the 20's. I can order what I want or take the 18's.

Any photos would help....the only thing on the dealer lot is the 18's, so I have not seen the 20's for side by side comparison. Any help is appreciated.

Re: 2014 20" pimp daddy wheels

Thanks for the comparison....both fill the wheel wells the same. I like the solid 5 spoke on the 20's. I think there is a glitch on the Jeep Buildr site. You can build a Limited with the OR2 package and then option for 20" wheels, however the dealer said he enters that in the system and it is rejected...you HAVE to order the 18"s with the OR2. If you build an Overland and select the OR2 package, the 20's go away and you get the 18's automatically.

This makes pretty much sense to me since the OR2 package infers you want to off-road somewhat, and a bit more sidewall profile may be more advantageous....

Thanks for the images....

My Ram 1500 that I've owned for ten years came with 20s. Not once has anybody ever said it looked ghetto or pimp daddy or whatever this dude is talking about.

Also in that ten years I've never had trouble finding tires or having them balanced so that's also a stupid reason to hate 20s.

Re: 2014 20" pimp daddy wheels

I have the same Ram 1500 as you (05) with the 20's and never had that comment as well. 20's have become the new norm for high end models. I agree, anything bigger than this on this type of vehicle is ridiculous. If there's room for a bigger rim to fill the void space and not compromise the vehicles ability, then do it.
