2014 aftermarket hitch/wiring install

Hello,

I am getting ready to put on the hidden hitch from etrailer.com and they recommended this wiring harness. Has anyone used it with the stock 7pin connection under the rear of our Jeeps?

If you are going to use the OEM wiring under the Jeep, be aware you must have the dealer code it active in the vehicle's computer. It is not "plug and play" in that respect and will not supply power until they program it to be so.

Re: 2014 aftermarket hitch/wiring install

Thanks Jim, yes I have heard that adn thought they will find a way to get you to the stealerships one way or another to get your money. The local one here quoted me 90 bucks to turn it on.....they also have the connector for the rear plug for 51 but tell me I will need an adapter to go from the 7 pin to the 4 flat for my trailer. The plug recommended by etrailer is 18 if it will work.

I just wondered if all those 7 pins were standard or Jeep put something funky back there to force us to get a OME connector????

7 pins are standard. Etrailer option should work great or any local tool/supply store.
