2014 - brake lights

Quick question: When you hit breaks do the section of the light highlighted comes on? I was under impression that it does until recently my wife was picking me up and I did see brake lights only coming up on the corner section. Initially was thinking that bulbs went out but on my way home I did spot another 2014 GC and brake lights were the same as mine.

Seems like a waste and the brake lights are kind of small if you ask me. Especially compared to Dodge Durango where the whole back lights up (which I don't like but just saying ... )

Go here, scroll down. There's a video.

Edit: oops, looks like it doesn't have a 2014. . Here's one though. Yep, just the outer portion.

Re: 2014 - brake lights

I agree with the inners.. would look better if they lit up. someone complained to the NHTSA about this very topic. YEs I read the complaints and recalls about almost every vehicle. I have a lot of quiet time to myself once the kids and wife go to sleep.

Re: 2014 - brake lights

Thanks for the link. This is how exactly mine work. At least I know this is per design.

Did anybody knows of any mod to light up the whole section? Seem like a huge waste to me to have all this space and not use it.

Chrysler did it the cheap way by (1st) not making the entire rear light LED and (2nd) by not illuminating the inner taillight upon brake application.
