I came over from UK in April to live in Denver fulling intending to purchase a 2014 JGC V6 Laredo. I test drove one and was certainly impressed with the smoothness and build quality

Whoops! Pressed wrong button. Ironically I found the look of it a little too European and not quite "Jeep" like enough for me. I then test drove a 2011 V6 Ltd Lux 2 package and immediately fell in love with it. The 5 speed box is more than adequate for the use I put it to -city cruiser with ski trips to the Rockies.
I have had absolutely no regrets and zero problems so I am pleased! Good luck to the 2014 owners, undoubted a fine vehicle!

I'd be waiting for the 2017. It might have a 9.4" touch screen. Never know.

Oh and I need to throw this out there: The Chrysler 8 Speed isn't exactly the same as the ZF, so I call it a Chrysler transmission. Parts don't even interchange between the two.
There are two 8 speeds. One is made by Chrysler under license from ZF, the other is the ZF original.

As for the 9.4 inch touch screen, but 2017 you should be able to buy a set of Mopar Glasses and not have any screen at all.

Could not agree more..The new Summit is just dumb looking and the rest of them all look alike..regardless of the trim level.

Re: 2014 compared to 2011

The main differences I noticed quickly after parking a new 14 and pre owned 12 side by side (almost no sunlight).

Interior on the 14 vs 12, the gauges loom to be an electrical screen, the gps monitor is different.
Cosmetically 14 vs the 12, the headlights are shorter which make for a different front grill and bumper, the rear taillights are also shaped different and the 14 doesn't have that center trim piece between the taillights, also on the higher end 14 models they have all the trim pieces color matched.

I went with the pre ownened 12 as it ha a lot options for then the same price 14 and I couldn't afford another +10k on a loan. I figure I'll use this one for a few years and then upgrade later. I usually only keep cars for about 2-4 years.
