No it is not possible, and it will never be possible. It needs to be default on to get the epa mileage estimates up.

Re: 2014 Eco Mode - 5.7 Hemi

That stinks. Not a fan of this new transmission. Shifts are not as smooth and too frequent, even with sport mode. Mileage doesnt seem better either. Perhaps needs more breaking in. At 500 miles now.

If you have not done the battery cable reset give that a try and then just give it time it will smooth out. I had 1-2-3 upshifting issues with my 5.7 and it didn't really feel normal until after the battery cable reset and 3000-4000 miles. I know long time to wait but it will likely smooth out. the V6 is a different story that one has bigger issues needing software updates

I think I left it about 2 hours, probably doesn't even need that long I think a lot of people were doing like 20 minutes or something like that. after you hook it back up idle like 5 minutes and then slow easy drive around the neighborhood with stop signs for 3 or 4 miles. don't just hook it up and jump on the highway going 75 that gave a bad result. I think the thought pattern is that there is some type of immediate learning that goes on within the first few minutes after hooking it back up. sounds stupid I know but did seem to give benefit to a lot of us. good luck

here is thread that is related

Re: 2014 Eco Mode - 5.7 Hemi

No default off and give the transmission some time to break in and adjust to your driving habits. I wasn't too fond of how it shifted when I first got it, but now with nearly 13k miles on it, I never get a rough shift and it smoothly transitions through all 8 gears. I think around 1,500 - 2,000 mile marker I saw a big improvement with the tranny.

The transmission should adjust a bit as you drive. You might want to have your dealer completely reset it [battery pull] as there've been report crappy shifting off the lot that tend to get better as you drive it after the reset.

Mileage is pretty much dependent on the weight and steadiness of your right foot.
Typical suburban commute runs in the high 17s to low 18s if you leave it out of sport mode. However, now that you have a few hundred miles, your dealer should have recommended using that sport mode and a few "wheeee!" runs every now and then
to help with engine break in. Once it is broken in, I just got 19.4 on a combined highway/off-road/nasty road trip, where speeds ranged from 2 mph to cruising at 80-85 for extended periods.

If you aren't using mid-grade, try that, it seems to work better than regular.

Just a few minutes, so a coffee or beer break would be about right.

Re: 2014 Eco Mode - 5.7 Hemi

I will leave it in ECO Mode when I doubt there will be a need for quick power, the active Sport Mode other times. I've found I now rarely use Normal Mode. Sport Mode is excellent, giving very quick response with no hesitation. The BMW people with the 8-speed have reported problems with delays long enough that people are honking at them, something we do not need to worry about.

v8 – Range Technology | AFM Solutions for GM Cars, Trucks & SUVs

sorry to bring this thread from the dead. But have any of you looked into this? Not sure if it works on hemi's but its a good start. I had this on my 2011 SS and no more AFM(GM's version of fuel saver tech). Its called the Range device.

I'm sorry but I see absolutely no point in this. I drove gm suv's when they brought that out and they hardly ever went into afm, I'm sure they have gotten it to work more but still. Unless the gm version does not work near as good as the mds in hemi's I see no reason to disable it. The only time it comes on is under low loads when you don't need the power. I have it on my Ram, I have never one time felt like it delayed power. There is much of a delay when the traction control kicks in than mds. It goes straight from mds being on to rear tires spinning instantaneously.
Now if you want to talk about removing torque management I am 100% all for that.
