Good thread. I was also debating between the fully loaded limited or the overland. This thread answered the questions I had.
For me, I want the Advanced Tech and ORA-II, and the CRD so the price difference ends up being
And best I can tell (and seems to be confirmed by this thread), the only differences between the two are:
Functionally, the Overland has:
- power folding mirrors
- ambient lighting
- puddle lamps
- chrome tow hooks on Overland (I think the ORA-II on the limited will still have tow hooks, but won't be chrome)
- front grill different
- black body trim on Limited, body-colored on Overland
- leather dash
- wood on steering wheel for Overland
- nicer wood trim on Overland
Functionally, the power folding mirrors might be nice but not $3.3K nice.
Cosmetically, I'm actually not a fan of the wood on the steering weel; the black body trim seems like it'll hold up better than the body-colored; while I like the look of the chrome tow hooks better, I'm actually trying to reduce the amounts of chrome due to rust concerns being next to the ocean; and I'm basically neutral on the leather dash and wood trim.
And as for the resale value ... well - in the last 26 years I've only bought 2 cars/SUVs, and I still own both of them.
So resale is not that big of a concern. I drive them until the wheels fall off or I fall through the floor boards.
So for me, the loaded Limited seems like the right choice.
I'm looking at:
Limited 4x4, CRD, Lux-II, ORA-II, Advanced Tech, 8.4AN. I want the light frost interior, but I'm torn between the white and the cherry red for the exterior. Originally I was pretty set on the white (I like that it stays cooler in this CA sun), but after seeing the red in person I'm starting to lean that way. I guess I can just make use of the remote start to get the car cooling before I get in.
