Here's a question...can the affiliates access fund or tread lightly be used after an agreed upon price between you and the dealer..for instance the dealer is giving you a price of 46,124 for an overland with a V8 and advanced tech package and on top of that you want to use the 1% to lower that given price which is about 460 bucks less?

I am really not looking for any of those options you listed. I hate looking at when it's time to sell, but I do. Do you think the resale will make up for it? When selling a Limited, the base price is what alot of people look at and if it is optioned up it can seem overpriced.

Actually, I say it's the leather dash and trims, the piping on the seats (and overland imprint), power exterior mirrors/puddle lamps, interior ambient lighting, overland grille, body color fascia etc, and the wood steering wheel.

Excluding those, you can comparatively equip a Limited to an Overland as all other options, other than what I listed above (may have missed a few), are available for the Limited-QL, Tow hooks (ORA2), 20", Nappa leather, rain sensing wipers, power steering column, pano roof (LuxII), RA4 etc

So, really Limited vs Overland comes down to body color trim and interior "niceties" coz both are capable of doing the same thing....now if it either is compared to a Summit, it'll be a different ball game. My take, if money and QL is no issue, go Overland. Since both are an issue for me(not the QL really) I will take the Limited with the LuxII upgrades.

Re: 2014 fully loaded limited or overland?

For all you guys negotiating prices in this thread make sure you are negotiating % off from invoice when you are talking to your dealers... You should be STARTING at -1% from invoice with an Affiliates Program number (either thru your work or something like a Tread Lightly membership).

To get the most detailed information on invoice numbers use the information Milous put in this thread:

2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

...and to the actual subject of this thread I'm getting a Limited CRD Max Steel/Black LuxII ORAII RA4...

The required addition of the advanced tech package to an Overland CRD made my decision much easier for me.

Yeah, it kind of stinks that CRD "requires" certain packages, or even the advanced tech package. Like the LuxII is required for CRD on the Limited. And the only way to get an auto dimming passenger mirror is with the ATPack which REQUIRES the LuxII package. I would love to just have the ATP as a stand alone package but will end up with only LuxII when the time comes...maybe there will be a way to add the auto dimming passer mirror.

To me i would think that the Overland would have a better resale value. I think that there are quite a few folks that want used but still with all the options. To me the Overland would offer that over the Limited. I don't know for sure but that's just my thoughts. I guy I may be trying to talk myself into the Overland

Does the access fund.org and treadlighty give the buyer 1% off a negotiated price but then gives the dealer 2% back on the transaction?

Re: 2014 fully loaded limited or overland?

1% off invoice not negotiated price. I'm not sure what the dealer gets from it.

Re: 2014 fully loaded limited or overland?

I believe that affiliate purchases let the dealer buy 2% below invoice and gets the buyer 1% below. The dealer gets 1% of invoice plus the 3% of MSRP as holdback.

Wait until you see the beautiful indigo/brown interior that only comes on the Overland!
