Good tip, this is how I made my final decision. There were a few things I didn't need that the overland offered, but the overall price to get all I wanted in the Limited wasn't low enough either for me to settle.

Re: 2014 fully loaded limited or overland?

It looks like the tow package is only included in the 4x4 Overland. So, if buying a 4x2, the cost difference becomes greater between Limited (w/LuxII) and Overland if wanting the tow package (because the 4x2 Overland buyer will have to pay for the tow package).

The "real" bottom line might end up being whether the buyer wants Quadra-Lift or not. While it appears to be more reliable now than a few years ago, there may be buyers who want to avoid additional complexity. And then, there may be buyers who will want to replace shocks/springs, and they will want to avoid the Overland's standard QL. For them, Limited is a smarter overall choice.

For me, I too don't want the air suspension, and will be ordering a limited with the options I would like to have like the Xeon head lights and towing.
I just think that if one is considering keeping it for a longer time, the air suspension has more things to go wrong.

Re: 2014 fully loaded limited or overland?

I had the same debate when I was ordering. After I got all the numbers back, It was atleast $2500 difference. The upgrades were nice on the Overland but more than what I needed/wanted. Everyone talks about resale value, but what about the price your paying now. I can't see paying that much more now if I plan on keeping it 7-10. By that time it won't be worth much anyway..

Also a good point, if you plan to keep it that long, it's not going to make that much of a difference anyways. Laredo to Overland, yea probably a sizeable difference, limited to overland 10 years down the line with probably high miles; not going to make or break things.

Right with you. My reason for not wanting QL is that I'll want to put Bilsteins and springs (probably SRT) on to tighten up the feel/handling. Seems kind of a shame to buy all the air suspension stuff just to take off the springs/shocks (and leave all the peripherals attached).

And, I'll get a 4x2. No snow, no offroading, etc. I'm happy with the rwd, a Limited w/Lux, Tow and 20's.

Re: 2014 fully loaded limited or overland?

Just thought a bump on this thread.

Used the Jeep.com to configure the Limited. Off-Road adventure II is not available if you want the CRD or V8. Am I reading it correctly? If so, that is a big differentiation between a fully loaded Limited and the Overland.

I looked at a 2014 Limited V8 yesterday with the 8.4 " screen and Nav (RA4). Are you saying that the LUX II package will be a different interior then the one I saw yesterday? (Leaving aside the dual pane sunroof & perforated seats) What will be different?

Re: 2014 fully loaded limited or overland?

Hi,what issues have the 2011-2013 grand cherokees had with the quadralift suspension? Ive noticed on this forum and other info out there that there has been undiagnosed nitrogen leaks that have been hard to find and fix,the rattling pano roof and a hemi shudder..does any one have any info on these items?

Works for me with the Hemi. It even lets you keep the 20" rims with ORII.

OA2 is available with the v8 or CRD. The main difference is you get the ELSD rear diff, which is not available with the pentastar.

If you want the diesel, the "fully loaded" limited is the way to go. You are forced to take Lux2 with the CRD on the Limited, but it comes with a price break. On the Overland, you get no price break, and are forced to take the Advanced Tech Package. The actual difference comes out to almost $5000 US MSRP.
