Re: 2014 fully loaded limited or overland?

weck, what do you mean "forced to take Lux2 with the CRD"? That's got to be just a glitch since CRDs aren't even available to order yet. But for me, Lux with the CRD is a no brainer since it's $1000 cheaper than it would be on the V8. It also makes the decision to get a CRD over a Pentastar a little easier since the price difference is "only" $3k then.

You have to have LUX II on the Limited to get the CRD, you don't have a choice in that.

I did a search for limited Lux2 and there are only 3 in a 200+ mile radius from me ! Doesn't seem like any dealers are ordering them instead they are getting Overlands it seems.

For 2011-2013 Grand Cherokees, Laredo X's were our bread and butter. It was a nice balance between luxury and affordability. 2014 Limited is now the Laredo X, so ordering them fairly basic with a nav/roof/wheels will come out to the same MSRP as a LaredoX.

If that makes any sense.

If I was ordering I'd avoid QL. Sooner or later everyone is going have expensive to fix issues with that option. Best get the extended warranty if you do go with it.

The non QL vehicles also have a bunch more aftermarket suspension options.

The leather dash is nice.
The folding mirrors and puddle lights are a gimmick.

I'd say save the $3k.

The most frustrating thing for me is the headlights. I wish they had a separate option to add them. That's the only thing out of the lux2 j care about or want. I might just get a limited with sunroof and RA4 and buy a HID kit.

I agree as I'd love to get a 2014 with lux but without the led lights. Maybe you will find someone like me that plans to yank the new led out. I wish there was a non led HID option as that would make this much easier to pull the trigger on.

Re: 2014 fully loaded limited or overland?

Well what frustrated me is that you had to order Lux in order to get Technology Package. I did not want ANY of those added features as nice as they are. Not steering wheel, not HIDs (cause I would be adding them in less than a week anyways), not ventilated seats. And definitely NO SUNROOF !

But you can look at it one other way - a fully optioned Limited is not only cheaper than an Overland but it really is pretty much decked out as a Summit. Most of the upgrades consist of just 3 packages: Luxury; ORA II and Technology. Sure you may get more interior color choices with Summit but you are getting into aesthetics not functions. If you like black interiors, and function over aesthetics, there is only a one way ticket here.

There's something about that limited with that non body colored cladding in the front,,on the sides and in the rear that's not at all appealing unless you have a darker color then you can maybe get away with it.
