2014 fully loaded limited or overland?

So I'm new to Jeep Garage. I'm a member on another Jeep forum but found this site to be great too. I've had 3 GC's in my time (1998 special edition 4.0l 4x4, 2002 limited 4.7 h.o. 4x4, and currently a 2011 limited v8 4x4)

So, I'm considering trading my 2011 for a 2014. I priced a fully loaded limited and overland and the price difference is something like $3k. What does the overland really give me over the limited? I know the biggest thing is the QL, which I don't have on my limited and don't really see the need for it now. Then there are some cosmetics like the leather dash, and wood/leather steering wheel. But is there anything else that I'd really be missing out on if I opted for another limited? Thanks in advance!

When you mean "fully loaded", what options are you putting on it? V6 or V8, is the Overland just a "base"?

Re: 2014 fully loaded limited or overland?

You say fully loaded...but just in case you forgot some of the below:

QL
Power folding mirrors
body colored trim
Chrome tow hooks
trailer package if you didn't have it optioned on the limited
leather wrapped dash and door panels, and center console
Ambient lighting? I think just rear
Power folding side mirrors with puddle lamps
Upgraded Leather - Nappa
Ventilated front seats
Power tilt/telescope steering wheel
LED/Xenon headlights
Power lift gate
Panoramic sunroof
Upgraded RA4 navigation

A loaded limited will include all but:

- power folding mirrors
- leather dash
- ambient lighting
- puddle lamps

Am I missing anything here? I'm sorta facing the same decision myself so I'm curious what other think about it. Personally, the only one of those I would miss are the power folding mirrors.

There's your answer then. I think I'm going to order a Limited/Lux II/OR II personally.

Re: 2014 fully loaded limited or overland?

I went for the Overland in the '11, after testing out the Limited (For the '14 I'm going for the Summit).

Bottom line-- the interior upgrades really give a much more premium 'feel' to the Jeep. Okay, I'm a guy coming off of a long line of BMWs and Mercedes, and that 'feel' is part of the experience. But where the Limited felt just a bit more plasticky, the Overland really holds a lot more refinement.

Anyway, check out the full spec sheet comparison list at http://www.wk2jeeps.com/pdf/2014_wk2...ipment_USA.pdf

Re: 2014 fully loaded limited or overland?

The Limiteds that are out now are like the Laredo X of last year. They don't have the updated interior until you get the LUX II package, which came available today to order!

Yup, that's what I was making sure of.

Everyone has their own definition of "Fully Loaded"...especially when it comes time to sell. hah

as others have mentioned...the leather dash/door/armrest treatment really adds a lot to the vehicle...but all preference. I'm sure you've sat in an overland so you get the feel for both...

For fully loaded I priced with lux 2 pkg, nav system/upgrade. Did not price with trailer tow so that's another $700 or so. I guess the best thing is to go and look in person.

That's basically what I am getting, adding on the Towing. The difference for me was about $2300 compared to a base overland.

Re: 2014 fully loaded limited or overland?

I agree with Rovinrail...Overland. I also considered what the used car market for these would look like in the future. I figure the higher base price couldn't hurt me and the QL will be a good selling point. I also went with the 7yr 70k Max Care plan and if I sell it in 5 years, it will still have 2 yrs and at least 30k miles on the service contract (I only drive about 8k miles a year) which is transferrable.

I also personally love the QL, use it just about everyday.
