I drove both v6 and v8 on overland and could tell a huge difference. I understand that Eco was on when I test drove them but that's what I would be using on a daily basis. Also the quadra lift weighs a decent amount in the overland so the v8 helps a lot.

I know mpg is a big deal for everyone looking. For the v6 peeps, what are u getting when u are driving in sport all the time?? I went with the v8 and keep it in Eco most of the time unless I want to have some fun and I'm loving it.

In my '12 Overland V6 the eco mode is an indicator on the dash display that shows I'm getting better instantaneous fuel mileage compared to my current average. I dial to sport mode when I enter the twisties, otherwise I normally leave the terrain select on its default setting.

Re: 2014 GC 3.6L V6 enough?

I just rented a '14 Limited with with the V6 and spent a couple of days in it driving around in the city and also a 6-hour road trip w/ some mountain grades. Outstanding!!! What an incredibly smooth, powerful engine. It did everything I asked of it, including passing other cars on some 2-lanes roads. It never left me thinking I needed more power.

After I dropped it off at the rental agency I immediately drove to the dealership and got into a Hemi for a test drive. Obviously the Hemi is faster, but I gotta say I loved that V6.

Try Enterprise first.

The V6 will be "sufficient"
It will not be "fun" or "sporty" to drive

Nothin' personal, but my V6 IS "fun" and sporty" to drive.

Did you get the special, "fun and sporty" edition?

Looks like it's starting to turn into a V6 vs. V8 thread
