I agree, although I'm not and wasn't torn.

My choice was made a lot easier when I found out the grille was going to be body colored on all models and I saw the official photos. If I were going to buy a 2013 I'd have a hard time deciding between the Deep Cherry Red and True Blue. In fact, based on the way it looked on the 2013 I was actually leaning more towards the DCR.

But with the new body colored grille, I wasn't sure how the DCR would end up looking. Thanks to the press photos and videos of the darker colored Limited (which I think looks awesome) I knew it would look good on a dark color (like True Blue), but when trying to imagine how the DCR would look in my head I wasn't quite sure if it would look as good in real life and on the Laredo. And yes, a lot of the official photos and videos show a DCR Summit, but the color isn't accurately portrayed at all, and plus, the Summit has a lot more chrome. And I don't like the way it looks in the photos/video nearly as much as I do as it does on the darker Maximum Steel Limited.

I'm sure the DCR will end up looking awesome in real life. And were the color accurately portrayed and showed on a Laredo or Limited in the press photos and videos would I feel differently? Quite likely, but they weren't, and so I just didn't want to take the risk. That and I do like the idea of having a slightly more "subdued" color, feel I might not get tired of it as easily even on a 2013 (but who knows), and my family thinks I'm more of a blue car guy than a red car guy anyway.

So yeah, to make a long story short, I went with True Blue, and am very satisfied with my decision.

Someone else already posted this link but you should be able to find the colors here but if you just search for each color, you'll get examples on other vehicles

Re: 2014 GC Colors

Interesting... Cashmere is more popular than Auburn.

And although that poll certainly isn't scientifically valid, it does illustrate why there are so many "Shades of Grey" (White to black and everything in between) available on a single model--that's what folks seem to like.

While I'm not buying a MY14 and not going to do the poll for that reason, I think that I'd go red or white the next time around if they were available at the time I buy. I do like the previous Stone White better than the current Bright White, however...

Re: 2014 GC Colors

Jeep has been advertising and promoting the Deep Cherry Red Overland and Summit on most of their promotional materials, including auto shows. The red Overland I saw (trail-rated) at the dealership was really nice, very striking in direct sunlight. I'm thinking of either Deep Cherry Red or Granite Crystal

Re: 2014 GC Colors

We were thinking a Billet Silver Limited for a long time but now are thinking Brilliant Black Overland. Both of us didn't care for how much the color of the Billet Silver changed depending on the sunlight and found it to almost have a slight purple hue on cloudy days. I think if they had bright silver rather than Billet on the MY14 it would've been a done deal.

I'm happy though as Black was my fave in the Overland after laying eyes on it at the auto shows. Still a metallic color but doesn't seem to change hues as much as the other colors. Truth be told we had a really tough time choosing because there wasn't just one color we were leaning toward from the get go. Usually I have my mind made up immediately. We are compromising on interior color - I love the black interior and especially the copper hue and glossy wood trim with the Black but she finds the whole cabin to be too dark overall. If there was a light grey headliner I think we'd be getting black interior. I can agree with her on how dark it is in there so we're going Jeep Brown/Light Frost. Still not liking the piping or the wood especially but it looks alright.

Can't wait to be able to order a CRD!

Every time I see the billet silver, whether in a picture, or at a car show, it looks different. I like that! Variety is the spice of life!

Re: 2014 GC Colors

My choice was quite simple. Previous car was black (Sapphire Black) and impossible to keep clean, especially where I live. Lots of new home construction going on, so dust sets in really quick. Besides, other than my JK, my last few vehicles have been black or white. Wanted a little color to this one, so I went with DCR. Beautiful when it's clean, too. Holds a shine very nicely. Hides dust fairly well, although as well as white or silver. But I'm happy with it. Looks a little odd sittign in the driveway next to my Detonator Yellow JK, though.
