2014 GC gas mileage 3.6L

After owning my Grand Cherokee Limited for almost two months I just wanted to get some feedback on gas mileage. I have a 2-wheel drive with the 3.6L. I am averaging city/hiway 21.4 mpg in eco. mode. After a week or so of just city driving I'm still averaging over 20 mpg. The furthest I've went so far on the hi-way was about 80 miles, consistent speed of 75 MPH and got 22 mpg. I have yet to get over 22 mpg and less then 20 mpg. I'm in the 20 to 22 mpg range no matter if it's city or hi-way driving. Just curious what everyone else is averaging.

Re: 2014 GC gas mileage 3.6L

I've only got 600 mi on my 14' 4x4 overland so it's still breaking in. The EVIC is saying 19~ with 50/50 mixed driving. I haven't had a chance to figure it out manually since I'm still on my first tank of gas that was topped off. When I'm crusing at 70mph I can get the instant gas mileage to hover around 25mpg. It will be interesting to take a road trip that's 100% highway to see how high I can get the gas mileage.

Re: 2014 GC gas mileage 3.6L

'14 Limited 4x4, non Quadra Lift, 2500 miles
Off the topof my head:

Highway ( almost 100% round trip) - 23/24, Highway speeds 70+
50/50 with eco on 21 ish
50/50 without eco on 19/20ish

...I guess, as advertised and happy with it.

2014 3.6L Limited 4x4, just broke 4000 miles
Assuming you are looking at EVIC readings I probably average 18/19 city and have seen it crest at around 23 on the highway a few times. It starts to trickle down if I am doing 75-80 mph on ~170 mile highway trips. I've had two of the three transmission updates performed just as an additional data point.

Re: 2014 GC gas mileage 3.6L

I have ~3,000 miles on my '14 V6 Limited 4x4 and I'm averaging 15.7 mpg with mostly city driving (manually calculated, not per EVIC). I'm in Los Angeles, so even the highways are a bit stop and go at times, plus I'm probably on the more aggressive end of the spectrum.

The longest trip I've taken so far was 150 miles each way, and I'm guessing I averaged ~21-22 mpg on that trip.

I've also noticed my mileage improving as I rack up more miles on the car. My average mpg is probably up 1 - 1.5 mpg since my first tank.

Re: 2014 GC gas mileage 3.6L

I've got 15k on my Overland. On average driving I'm getting 20, more if I'm on the highway, less if I'm in the city. I will say that since the last upgrade to the software, the transmission shifting has improved dramatically but the mileage has suffered.

Re: 2014 GC gas mileage 3.6L

Thanks for all the updates. Looks pretty much like we are all getting about the same mileage give or take. Was hoping to get up to 25 mpg hiway but I guess at 75 mph it ain't gonna happen.

18-21 with 3k miles on the GC Laredo V6. All manually calculated since the EVIC is a little optimistic on my vehicle. Mix of hwy and city driving.

11,000 on a Limited with ORA2.

20.65 mpg mixed city / hwy

On a 700 mile round trip at Thanksgiving highway mileage averaged 23.2 with heavy traffic

I have noticed the sweet spot for best mileage is between 46 - 49 mph

No transmission updates yet.

Cold weather is bringing down mpg.

not_too_shabby has a brilliant future
Evic usually says 19 for me in mixed driving for my 4x4 overland but my calculation is usually around 17.5.

Re: 2014 GC gas mileage 3.6L

I will be letting you guys know in February when I return from deployment how the 14' v6 4x4 does long mileage. I have to make the trip from Southern California to Norfolk, VA. It will be all highway but take in the fact it will have the RRO lift kit with 275/65/18 wheels on it so it won't be as accurate to those who don't have the lift.
