Hey can you shoot a couple pics of that hood issue? I know you said it's not a big deal, but I'd like to look into it and see what happened. You said the lines seem even, so I'm curious if its a bad hood, or the brackets are bent on one side or something.

They're always on me for suggestions of how to improve processes and stuff, so I'm gonna start laying this shit on them and maybe they'll leave me alone. Or fix what needs fixin!
I will get a couple of pics tomorrow for you. Also glad to hear that other Eco lights are amber. I could have sworn mine was green when I first picked it up. But that could be the power of suggestion from reading the manual and or a senior moment

Re: 2014 GC OWNER'S Review

I have 3600 miles on the clock. Great road trip vehicle and very comfortable. Fit and finish OK but the tailgate is misaligned and trim piece on the outside drivers door is not installed correctly.Carpet cut short in the drivers foot well. trim panel on drivers seat was not installed correctly and cut my wife's leg the first time she went for a ride in the Jeep. Still hearing about that one! Lower section of all the door trim looks really cheap. Main gripe is the U-Connect. Slow to respond and constantly re-boots. I use this as a work office and had I known there was an issue I would have not bought the vehicle. Had Jeep known there was a issue they should have never released the radio.
Jeep should also revamp their customer service and their dealer network for that matter. I took the time to test drive basically the same vehicle at 5 different dealers and the price ranged three to four thousand from dealer to dealer. Several never got back with me. I choose the same dealer my 2009 GC Limited came from. Settled on that dealer only because I experienced good things with the service department and my 2009. Which I see I'm am going to be seeing soon. The sales department and sales mangers were a nightmare. This is not good for a vehicle costing upwards of 40 grand.
I just don't have any spare time to spend in a Jeep Dealership Service Department but I'm sure these issues will be addressed and all will be fine.
I filled out the Jeep servery and the person who called back didn't know as much about the Jeep as I did. Sounded like he was reading from a book. Said I should take it back to the dealer.

The other thing is that as soon as I get in my Jeep the screen that says step on the brake and the gauges turn off. They come back on if I step on the brake. The car always starts and all the gauges stay lit.

My '61 Chevy, 6 cyl, with 2 speed auto and am radio never had these problems.
I went to dealer today. They confirmed that both of the things I mentioned are not working correctly. They could not come up with any solution, so initiated a Star report for both items.

I have had to reschedule meetings and appointments, and my family has had to reschedule doctors appointments due to the issues with our 2014 GC. It has been a nightmare. There is a lot going on in our lives right now and we simply don't have time to be dealing with loaners and dealership visits. But for now, we have to. It has been a pretty miserable three weeks. Feels like MUCH longer.

If we end up Lemon-ing this thing and god help us end up with another Jeep, I'm afraid we will end up at the closest dealership this time instead of the one we liked. Out of our four local dealerships, one kept saying they would work with me purchasing over email and kept breaking promises to respond with numbers, one has absolutely terrible reputation on dealerrater, one took my deposit and four weeks layer has still not refunded it (amex is taking care of that - they couldn't get the color I wanted), and the last one I spent 15 minutes waiting for someone to help me and no one could spare the time, so we left. It was actually the third car I had tried to buy from that dealership, ready to deal. I always dress in jeans and a t shirt, so maybe they don't like that there.

I am going to put my '14 Overland in Sand Mode tomorrow and see if it goes to OR1. I swear it used to but now it doesn't.

Re: 2014 GC OWNER'S Review

<hr style="color:#AAAAAA; background-color:#AAAAAA" size="1"> The Chrysler Technician (Scott Miller) came from timbuktu to work on mine today. He was on it all day. When he left he was telling me he was unable to fix it, but a new update was coming out in the next few weeks that would fix the problems (all stemming from uconnect 8.4an) He told me that until the update came out i would have to stand on my head, do 20 hail marys and spin backwards, or the battery would still be dead each morning. Well low and behold, they convinced me to drive it home after almost 20 days in the service department. On my way home it was like a miracle occurred. All of a sudden everything that has been missing from the radio appeared. Apps were back, all of it. I'm now waiting to see if the battery will be dead tomorrow morning, but even the dash lights are cycling off properly, so i think it might actually be fixed. I've learned so much from this all that Chrysler should hire me to be an engineer. Sorry to be so lively about this stuff, but I AM TRULY AMAZED!

So maybe they've got a fix worked out but aren't ready to roll it out in a big way yet? Seems like Uconnect gremlins are the cause of a lot of the complaints we're seeing.

Tried it out - all it does it turn off traction control. No OR1. Mud and Rock mode raise it up to OR1, however.

Re: 2014 GC OWNER'S Review

All is still working well for me. So glad to have my ride back again. One thing i noticed is wen they changed the oil while at the dealers, i have oil dripping all underneath. I wonder if they used the wrong filter. Is there a filter out for the 2014 V8? Also notice the oil change hole, with no cover. That is cheap.

Re: 2014 GC OWNER'S Review

Whelp, my jeep has just been towed back to the dealer. Started it up this morning, and could not get it to accelerate past 2 mph in my driveway... started flashing a "service 4WD system" message. After leaving it shut off for a little while, restarting it, it seemed ok, but I was not taking a chance on driving it, so I had them tow it.

This is the third time in the dealership... First time, they said it was the catalytic converter causing all of these issues. Second time they said the cat screwed up the oxygen sensors, and that caused all my issues. Let's see what they tell me this time.

this week I will be doing everything I can to get out of this vehicle. With this visit, I think I am within the guidelines for CT lemon laws.
