This is the third time in the dealership... First time, they said it was the catalytic converter causing all of these issues. Second time they said the cat screwed up the oxygen sensors, and that caused all my issues. Let's see what they tell me this time.

this week I will be doing everything I can to get out of this vehicle. With this visit, I think I am within the guidelines for CT lemon laws.
I think you're wise to get out of this one. Your experience was pretty close to mine, and in fact, the last message I got as well was Service 4WD System. The Jeep has been in the dealership since Tuesday morning and it is now Saturday. There has been no communication from the dealer since Tuesday.

Simply can't believe what we are going through. This has to be some common issue -- maybe grounding, maybe wiring, maybe interaction of systems -- that Jeep will eventually figure out. At least I hope so. There certainly seems like a lot of us here with similar issues.

Good luck getting out of it. My wife wants to take a chance with another GC. Are you going to risk another?

Re: 2014 GC OWNER'S Review

Just got back from my third road trip of a couple hundred miles, and the JGC performed flawlessly again. Hit another driving rain and hail storm and not a drop of water into the cabin, or moisture in the headlights. This trip consisted of interstate and everything else, down to unpaved access roads. The Jeep handled great on all of them. Even my wife, who is the original pea under the mattress princess, says it's very comfortable. It was 72 degrees when we left home, and after the storms, it was 43 degrees on the way home. I'm not an auto climate control kind of guy, but with a minimum of input, the cabin stayed very comfortable. Only two small issues with the Uconnect. I can't seem to find a way to avoid dirt roads with the shortest route setting in the nav, and I still haven't figured a way to get the phonebook to update numbers I've added to my cell. I believe there's a software update in the future that should help the phone problem. I've been using all facets of the audio system, and have had no glitches. I just want those of you who are afraid to purchase because of fears that the JGC is full of problems to know that, although some are having problems, there are those of us who find this ownership experience to be first rate. As with all software driven hardware, updates are an inevitable part of the game. The quickest way to see these implemented is to pass problems to the service folks, who can then document them and send them up the chain. I haven't been using the remote start, but understand the issues with the climate system, and feel these are very solvable. The QL system has performed exactly as advertised. The electronics haven't blinked once. What can I say? I'm a happy camper. Thanks again to all the folks at JNAP for building me a great Jeep!

I think it depends a lot on how Chrysler responds. If I have to get out of it using a lawyer, then there is no way. Even the sales guy who sold me the JGC is trying to get me out of it. I'll see on Monday what they say. If they are willing to work with me now, I will listen.

2014 Overland Buzzer Sound while driving

The buzz is caused by a bracket in the steering column. There is a star bulletin to remove it as it is unnecessary.
That update is for the Jeep dealer techs to fix the problem - right?

Surely they aren't expecting the customer to do that - are they?

I am so frustrated now at the lack of true customer service after being a devoted Jeep person for 20 years. The car only has 1100 miles on it and I have no idea what to expect in the next year.
Sue them.

The wiper issues alone should get you a new car.

Get aggressive - real aggressive

Re: 2014 GC OWNER'S Review

I just crossed the 1000 mile mark and I can't believe how much I love this truck. It's the grown up version of that '95 pathfinder I had when I was younger. It suits my personality and my work ethic. Refined but will not shy away from manual labor.

That's awesome, I am glad it is working out so well for you, and you are enjoying it so much.

Can someone in the know take me thru the mechanics of a STAR report - you have a problem, you take it to the dealer, they're clueless, so they refer it to STAR (whoever that is), then hopefully STAR figures it out and supplies the dealer with the steps to fix it. Is that how it works?

I believe they also put it in a database so other dealers who input the same symptoms will be directed to it.

The database makes sense.

Another question: Who is STAR? Are they the problem solving wing of Jeep - some kind of subsidirary who figures out Jeep's mistakes?
