Re: 2014 GC OWNER'S Review

Chevy,

Sorry I haven't got back with you on my hood issue, life is getting in the way of enjoying my new jeep. I could not get a picture with enough contrast to show the left trailing edge of the hood sitting below the cowl. In the meantime, and upon further review, the entire left edge of the hood sits a little low, at the cowl it is just more noticeable. A friend of mine who does body work was at the house and I asked his opinion. His opinion was give me access to your tools and I will fix it. After laying on of hands, problem solved. Other than 2 uncommanded switches from radio to the sd card, I have had no other issues. I love the 8 speed and v6, and am averaging a little over 22 mpg in mixed driving. My 2011 JGC w/hemi would have been in the mid 15s at best. Thanks again

Do you know what the version of the update is? Mine still has the original from early April when it was built of v. 13.10.0.

Re: 2014 GC OWNER'S Review

I'm close to 1500 miles on my 14' and it's been great overall.

I would like to see the 8 speed improved by being a bit smoother on downshifts in Sport mode. The Uconnect has some lag but i'm sure it will get better with future updates. The Auto headlights are too sensitive and turn on too early and often, I'm not sure if it's where the sensor is placed? Wherever that is..I would like the climate control to stay on when i remote start the car and open the door instead of shutting off and having to turn it back on again, it's annoying. Also, like someone else mentioned that the door panels are pretty cheap looking for a truck in this price range.

Other than that my 14' has been solid and i'm really enjoying it! I'm also glad i got the Hemi, It's got plenty of power at all speeds

For me, it seems the headlight sensor is the bulb attached to the center speaker, since whenever I put a windshield sun shield up, my car enters night mode. This is a similar placement to my other cars.

Hmmm the uconnect website that checks whether updates are available tells me nothing available for mine.

"There are no updates available for your 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE SUMMIT 4X4 equipped with the Uconnect 8.4AN AM/FM/BT/Access/NAV radio"

That's funny because I'm trading in my '13 Limited to a '14 Overland BECAUSE of the headlights! Well not the only reason obviously, but I like the "Audiness" of them. Glad you're enjoying it though, ordered mine on Saturday and I'm not a patient man...

You can get the Limited Lux II package and it gets the lights as well.

Seems like they are still resorting to old habits that caused them to go belly up not long ago. Have them get it adjusted by a body shop.

I would also tell them to either remove the scratches in the dash and from the front bumper or replace the parts they ruined.
Good sound advice....sometimes when you are flustered in middle of stuff like this it is hard to think of simply telling them fix or replace what You broke!
Anyway thanks for good post.

Yeah, I know I'm years behind the times but a question....I have a cheap Tracfone paired to mine and use it only for emergencies. The battery used to last about 12 days if unused. Now when I have it it my GC it drains WAY quicker. Does the bluetooth even tho' not being used cause the battery to drain like that?

True, but after optioning everything up in the Limited, the price was pretty close. Plus, I fell in love with the indigo blue interior and leather stitching in the Overland. Figured if I'm gonna upgrade, what's a couple thousand more?

Yes, Bluetooth will drain the battery faster than without.
