Re: 2014 GC OWNER'S Review

Chevyboy - replying from Sydney, Australia.

Have had the Overland CRD (Deep Cherry Red ) for close to 2 weeks now.

I think the export model of Overland is a bit more spec'ed up than your domestic Overland because we do not get the option of the Summit here. (I think ?) and of course we get the diesel option.

Two words - LOVE IT. Everything about it, from it's extremely smooth ride, all it's systems, the trim etc etc and of course the fuel economy. Compared to our '07 GC 5.7 Hemi is like comparing chalk and cheese.

You can be justifiably proud.

From a very happy customer downunder.

Re: 2014 GC OWNER'S Review

Initial impressions... I'll wait till I have some miles before taking the poll.

Just took delivery 2 days ago, 3 fit and finish issues noted.

Drivers side rear window seal, the one against the glass, as not fully installed for the last 3 inches or so. Dealer worked it into place and will replace it if it does not stay now.

Passenger side, joint between bumper and fender above the wheel, not fully seated. Sticks out about 1/8 inch and the wheel arch molding is therefore a little off.

Rear interior trim above the cargo area was not fully clipped in. Fixed that myself with a good thump.

Also had a couple of issues not assembly related:

Very slight indentation in the hood, almost like a hail dent but not that deep.

Also, dimple in the drivers side door b pillar. Both of these are most likely things that occurred in transport.

Dealer is going to take care of it so not worried.

Other than that, so far it is great vehicle. The 8sp shifts great, plenty of power from even in Eco mode (5.7), ride is smooth and very quiet inside.

No u connect oddness, but I'm sure that will come...

Will report back once I've had a few weeks, some more miles.

Re: 2014 GC OWNER'S Review

2014 JGC Laredo E with Security and Convenience package. Had 1 week, about 400 miles. Drives great, looks great. Loving the Bluetooth functionality on my iPhone - for both streaming music and calls.

I've had no real issues - a couple of gripes maybe - I think it is chinzy (sp?) in even the Laredo to not have basic power seats in the front passenger seat - but as it is my daily driver not a huge deal (the driver has 8 way power seat). The 2nd issue is a fit and finish issue with the center console - wondering if anyone else has seen this. The little storage tray does not fit in the console tightly - there is a very noticeable gap (on the left side of the picture below).

Is this a manufacturing defect? Does anyone think I can get them to replace it?

Re: 2014 GC OWNER'S Review

It almost looks like there is a tab on the underside of that tray that slots into the hole you can see in the main piece, in the gap. You can probably gently pry it up and seat it, or have the dealer do it, if they break it its on them...

The 4wd controls live there on mine.

I bought my 2014 GC Limited six weeks ago and have driven about 1.800 miles with two short trips and one hell of a rain storm. During the rail storm I would see several cars off in the ditches, yet I was flying along with no problem seeing the road. Love this vehicle. I have had absolutely no problems except for the nav not being accurate at first and the first software update fixed it. Haven't tried the remote start yet so don't know about the AC problem yet. I have updated the software twice with no problems. I am a computer programmer so I know about new software and bugs. You can beta test for a year and some new user can find a new bug the first day. I feel for the ones having problems but stick it out and you won't regret it.

Re: 2014 GC OWNER'S Review

Gotta admit, I never expected to get this many reviews/poll results.. Thanks again for you input guys. Maybe someone important will see this and use it constructively.

Of the 201 ppl who've taken the poll so far, there's 14 negative reviews, which equates to about 7%. Although some might say that's pretty good, I feel for those 14... Although perfection isn't realistic in mass production, fwiw, I'm sorry we let you and your wallet down.

(However, Scott did note that some of the ppl who took the poll don't even own a '14. )

+1... Chevy I don't own one yet myself but I have been in many now. I do think out of the population people who have problems do gravitate to the forums. So I think the poll is weighted a little heavy to the negative vs general experience.

JNAP bums rock
