Re: 2014 GC OWNER'S Review

I've owned my JGC Limited V6 for less than a week, but I'm loving it so far. All I have is towing, OR-I, and navi. Never had a navi before, so it's kinda cool. The Sirius is very cool. My commutes are short, about 5 mins, so I don't really get to test out a lot of things. Longest trips has been from the dealer. ~30 mins. Best mini-van ever.

I'm just concerned about long term reliability. I had 2 Honda Accords, and 2 Toyota Tacomas. I did have an auto tranny that started to slip in one of the Accords at like 80K miles. But other than that, all those vehicles didn't have any issues other than regular maintenance or when I got OCD about my blower motor making a cricket noise on one of the Tacomas. I bought a replacement motor for $100 and it was silent again.

Re: 2014 GC OWNER'S Review

I'll update my status since I've had it since April and am almost at 6k miles. I suppose since I still have a silly grin on my face every time I walk out to the Jeep I'll stick with my positive vote.

Mechanically, the vehicle is sound. My only issue is the CF trim on the driver's left came loose about 2 weeks ago. It does not appear that there is any adhesive behind it. No tape, no residue. I assume that there should be some adhesive of some sort and it was missed, in any case it's at the dealer getting fixed.

Software of the UConnect is frustrating at times, great at others. I am really happy to see that CJD is working hard on resolving the issues.

All in all, Chevy/Marlon and the rest of the JNAP folks did a hell of a job on these Jeeps and I'm glad to be able to drive one.

Re: 2014 GC OWNER'S Review

I've had my Jeep for about 2 months (3500 miles) now and I'm thoroughly happy with the purchase. The V6 is enough power for my day to day driving, and the sport mode gives extra kick when I need it. The fit and finish of the interior is close to perfect, and the new EVIC in the dash is just plain beautiful. There have been many occasions around town where I've been grateful for the roomy cargo area and back seat. The cooled/heated seats are a fan favorite. The transmission is pretty smooth for the most part (as long as it's not in ECO mode) and I've had no major problems, neither electrical nor mechanical.

For full disclosure, I've had a few minor issues, but I really think they're insignificant in the big picture.

- Day zero issues: There were a couple minor issues with my Jeep the day I picked it up.
(1) The most blatant was that it was badged incorrectly as a Laredo, when really it's a Limited. I almost thought the dealership had totally botched my order until I looked at the window sticker and build sheet and was reassured that the car itself was really a Limited. I guess someone was just sleepy the day my car was getting badged at the factory.
(2) There was a loose nut in some tube under the "60" of my 60/40 rear seat. It rattled very loudly every time I turned. Dealer opened it up and found the nut - no noises since then.
(3) There were what looked like goosebumps on the leather of my steering wheel at the 2 o'clock position, over an area of 1.5" by 0.5". Really odd, and annoying only because it fell right under my thumb when I gripped the wheel. The dealer had an upholstery expert "fix" it, by buffing down the leather, but I'm not sure if this will cause problems in the future. Of all my issues, this is the one that most concerns me, as I don't like getting defects on brand new, multi-thousand dollar purchases.

- Interior: I feel the beige interior picks up dirt and black marks more easily than I'd like and than I expected. I came from having a near-white interior in my previous car, so I'm not new to light interiors, but the door trim already has a couple black marks near the arm rest and the leather shows signs of "darkening", which was unexpected just 2 months in. This is nothing a leather cleaner can't fix, so no big deal.

- Electrical: Just once I had the radio forget all of my presets (as previously mentioned in other posts). I can't remember if I had to restart the vehicle or if it just corrected itself after a few minutes of driving. Thankfully, I haven't had any other electrical issues other than that one instance.

Hope that helps anyone who's still in the market. I'd buy this car again in a heartbeat given the combination of utility, luxury, and value. I don't think it can be beat.

My 2014 Summit, which I purchased in August, was produced in January 2013 and is an abomination.

After $31k in warranty repair receipts, I am in the process of fielding buyback paperwork from ISG.

Bought a 2011 70th WK2... Hoping life gets better, or at the very least hope to have the vehicle in my possession more than 10% of the time as with my 2014.

Good luck to you all.

What did they do for $31,000?

Among MANY other things, replaced the headlights three times @ $6k per pair.

I've accrued quite the list of nonsense. The holidays have delayed my buyback, but I expect the junk to vacate my driveway sometime this week. For now, I can't even lock it anymore because the alarm keeps going off, resulting in lots of emails.

This though... This was the best failure yet. Something for you 2014 folks to think about: What do you do when your electronic shifter won't go into park and your engine won't shut off because you're in gear, and Chrysler Roadside Assistance gives up on you?!

Do what I did! Park it against a curb, set the E-brake, then go to bed!

How long was the buy back process and how well taken care of were you by Chrysler customer service?? Do see this as just an anomaly and will get another JGC?
