2014 gc side moldings

There was a rather long thread about the body moldings (2013 chrome vs 2014 none) regarding appearance, protection ect. I personally like the looks of my 2014 without a molding, but there was so much of the body crease exposed that I was concerned about parking lot dings. I finally decided on what I thought was a reasonable compromise between looks and function and wanted to put it out here. I bought 5/8" x 14' of a good quality flat black molding that matched the wheel wells and rocker panels for under $20. The space between the crease and the letters is about 1", so I carefully placed the molding about halfway between. I'm going to try to post a couple of pics. It worked for me. Not very noticeable, but a little buffer from the door swingers

Thats actually not a bad idea. I think that would only work well black or white (I have blue) but kudos for the idea.

That actually looks pretty good. I might look into that for my black 2014.

I need to get door edge guards too.

Re: 2014 GC side molding

Thanks for the kind words.
Here's the stuff that I used, pretty good quality for the price and easy to work with
Cowles T3402C Black European Body Molding : Amazon.com : Automotive

I got some nice door edge guard at auto zone. I think it was from the same company. A package did 4 doors and the bottom of the rear gate

Re: 2014 GC side molding

I'm thinking that maybe I should have posted this thread in the WK2 appearance forum. Is there a way to transfer the thread there?
