ok so you got a really recent build Dan march of 2014 and it is good and cold in south Florida that is good to know. wonder if it is just a low charge condition for prior builds? may get that checked at some point when I get through other items lol

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee AC is yours cold?

Hi All,

First-time poster here.

Thanks to this forum, I just had the "hot cabin" TSB fix performed, and I am very happy to report that my AC in auto-mode now works as expected. YAY!
Very cold, very fast at first startup, and settles down once it gets closer to desired temp setting. Previously I had to set for 63F to get 70F in the cabin. I now get the temp in the cabin that I set in auto sync mode.

Hi Stmija, what is your build date? Thanks for posting this, it may help Silvermax04.

That is true, these days in the morning here in Northern VA, its still slightly chilly, I'm hoping it would at least rear its head in these temps, but I think you maybe right, it will need to be really cold for it to show up. I too, hope its all squared away, my OCD has had enough tweaking from the axle replacement, lol. I hope your issue is resolved soon~

before you worry too much about performance... check it in hotter weather I had another 2014 JGC that wasn't cold when it was warm out but when it got HOT it was perfect. If the performance is not satisfactory, have it checked... The Durango I drove last summer didn't seem cold either except on the highway. They brought it in, did a recovery and recharge then it was ice cold.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee AC is yours cold?

Just to give you all an update on the "Hot Cabin" TSB that was just released. I finally got around to applying the the new flash to mine today. I will tell you this, it is like it has a new HVAC system in it now. My build date is Aug. 2013. Before it was so hot in the Jeep I sometimes wondered if the HVAC was working at all. Had to turn HVAC down to 60* just to get cold air to cool the inside down to around 70*. After I applied the new flash I can set the temp to 72* and it cools the inside right down and holds it with no problems. Best flash I have applied so far to solve the HVAC cooling issues.

Can you apply this TSB on your own?

Nope you need access to the software fix and the expensive tools to load it. wiTECH I think it is called, willx can correct me if I am wrong on the tool name. anyway it is something you must go to the dealer for.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee AC is yours cold?

My 14 went through two summers with the Ac not cooling correctly. Some days set at 73 and 74 degrees it would freeze you out of the Jeep.On other days it just could not keep up with it set below 65. Other days it would for no reason while driving start blowing through the dash and floor vents and stop cooling. Then all of a sudden it start working perfectly. The module was reprogrammed five or six times. Still after a year they could not fix it.I would have the dealer check and see that your outside temp sensor is reading the correct temp. It is connected to the AC. Mine stuck at 68 degrees and it would not let the Auto Temp control cool in 90 Degree weather.
When my dealer was working a trade in on a latter built Summit, it was doing the same thing.
This is evidently a know issue with early JGC.
