Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee AC is yours cold?

Thanks. Did the TSB for the climate control break anything else? Thought I read applying that TSB introduced some new problem. Hopefully not.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee AC is yours cold?

kinda amazed 25 posts and nobody has shoved a thermometer in their vent yet
under typical conditions with the vehicle travelling at freeway speed and outdoor temps in the 90 to 95 degree range, with the system in manual mode on recirculate and set at coldest temp, with hi fan I would expect something in the mid to low 50s and even into the 40s as the cabin cools off. this is based on years of hvac experience residential and automotive and have always had a thermometer in my vents.

Other days it would for no reason while driving start blowing through the dash and floor vents and stop cooling. Then all of a sudden it start working perfectly. The module was reprogrammed five or six times. Still after a year they could not fix it.I would have the dealer check and see that your outside temp sensor is reading the correct temp. It is connected to the AC. Mine stuck at 68 degrees and it would not let the Auto Temp control cool in 90 Degree weather.
When my dealer was working a trade in on a latter built Summit, it was doing the same thing.
This is evidently a know issue with early JGC.

2 summers with bad AC on your 2014?

Pardon me while I throw the BS flag!

I wonder how much GM/Ford pays these guys?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee AC is yours cold?

Bought mine March 2013, last summer was fine, so far this year no issues. As far as I know they didn't do any reprogram.

Read my post from day one over the past year. The AC was one of the reasons the dealer bought it back to keep me from going through the Lemon Law. They already had two others.
I waiting on Jeep to get things worked out and I'll be back.

Oh and Jeep has done enough damage to itself to have Ford and GM people post on this site. I see some of the issues Jeep has had with the 14 Grand Cherokee Following closely with some of GM issues they are having right now. Only time will tell.
A 42K vehicle that had 15K worth of Warranty work done on it in 20K miles in one year is not BS. Still after all that having a transmission slam into first and surge forward at a stop was the main issue. Early build issues,Maybe. But they are still happening.

So how did you get 2 summers in a one year old vehicle?

Bought it in March.2013. Our weather can be hot in March,April,May. We can have 70-75 degree weather in October, November, December, January and February. So theoretically I only had it one"Summer". To me our Summers start when it starts to get hot. I use the AC for at least 10 out of the 12months. 12 if I stay at the house in Florida. Anyway 13 months and 20840 miles with erratic AC and Heat.

Thermometer in vent is reading 40 - 42 degrees. I bought my Jeep in Oct and I thought I was having a problem with it (not blowing that cold) What I've noticed is when the weather was not that hot out like in the 70's my AC didn't seem to blow as cold. I live in South FL and now that we are starting to get some hot days (low 90's) it will freeze you out. I am having NO issues with the AC. Seems the hotter it is outside the colder it gets?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee AC is yours cold?

I def have the hot cabin issue, TSB NOT applied yet and mediocre AC perf with 70's temps outside. I am a realtor so I do all the short trip stuff and the person in back seems to have to put the window down often. It's def the radiant sun heating interior above outside so the AC has to work harder but I can't seem to force it to do so. My routine is windows down to vent the built up radiant heat since I know the temp sense will tell the AC "it ain't that hot out" and do medium cooling so then I set manual 60 recirc and it takes forever to cool. And always have vents set to face/up front and back. My '02 if you did that it blew frost out the vents within a minute.

My build is 11/6/13. I am hopeful the TSB improves AC moderate temp performance.

Strange my build is 10/13. If I recall I think the AC temp control arrow down will go below 60. It will say low. That is the coolest setting.

U r correct mine does too sometimes I set at low others 60 to no avail. On a trip it will cool off but is never frigid or in a hurry to cool. My guess is the heat and ac are/were too tied to ambient temp sensor and auto mode and I'm thinking the TSB massaged that not only for auto mode but manual mode so you can force what you want better regardless of what ambient temp sensor says you "should" be doing or calling for.

So correct me if I'm wrong, but if I end up with a '15 in a few months will this flash be applied to the new models or does the manufacturer take a wait and see approach? I notice most of you are talking about build dates...
