One question will this vehicle be making an appearance at the Detroit auto show???
By "this vehicle", do you mean the Jeepster? If so, that is getting revealed at Geneva. A Chrysler vehicle is getting revealed at NAIAS/Detroit, although it is unclear what that vehicle is. I also wouldn't be surprised to see the Altitude II, or maybe even the Trailhawk II, finally break cover.

That vehicle getting revealed in Detroit is the 2015 Chrysler 200.

We would have to actually build one first...

... unless we already have, and I haven't seen one yet. We did have a "weird" run of a few WKs (We don't call them WK2s) about a week ago. Maybe those were the Altitude.

Milous?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Hmm...

Chrysler typically starts off a model year with VINs starting in 100000 or 500000.

Like
2011 was BC500000
2012 was CC100000
2013 was DC500000
2014 was EC100000

We are already building WELL into EC400000.

I hope we don't run out of serial numbers.

I just saw an article claiming that Jeep hybrids are coming soon (the source was Steve Bartoli). Can anybody confirm, or hopefully deny this rumor? If this is true, I am going to be extremely upset. People buy Jeeps for a lot of reasons, buy fuel economy is definitely not one of those reasons. A hybrid goes against everything a Jeep stands for. They are like oil and water. I originally thought that the Fiat buyout of Chrysler was a good thing, but they are DESTROYING Jeep's heritage one step at a time. The new Cherokee is a disgrace to the Jeep name, especially when you take into consideration the fact that it ruined the Cherokee nameplate as well. They are ruining another historic nameplate, Jeepster, with an even smaller FWD crossover based on the Fiat 500L. I've also heard rumors that the next-gen Wrangler won't have solid axles (possibly the most painful), and now I'm hearing about Hybrids?!?! Unbelievable. In 5 years, Jeep won't be any different than Kia or Hyundai. If Fiat wants to sell these vehicles, they should use the Alfa or Fiat nameplate, not Jeep. Let Jeep be, please.

Perhaps they will use the hybrid in the smaller vehicles and not the JGC.

Article: Jeep Evaluating Hybridizating Portions of Its Lineup, Exec Says
Yeah only Car and Driver said Jeep.

Steve Bartoli didn't mention Jeep at all in his statement.

By product line, to Chrysler, that means their ENTIRE product line.

Guys, remember Jeep is a *brand*, not its own company.

And people have said that Fiat is ruining Jeep.
People said that Daimler was gonna ruin Jeep.
People said that Chrysler was gonna ruin Jeep.
People said that AMC was gonna ruin Jeep.
People said that Kaiser was gonna ruin Jeep...

OK I'm tired of typing who was gonna ruin who. You get my point now.

Also, I looked him up. He's head of Asia/Pacific Product Portfolio.

*NOT* Head of Jeep in Asia/Pacific...

I get your point though. I DON'T LIKE IT EITHER, but Chrysler is going to do what Chrysler is going to do. The ONLY thing ANY of us can do is climb our way up the ladder until we make a difference.

That's the very sad realization of the situation.
