Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Good news Jeepers,

12 hours already into the New Year Downunder and the MY14 is still going faultless.

So finally my MY14 Laredo CRD has caught up to the year in which it should have been built, not 2013!!

How does Jeep USA build a my14 in 2013??

Magic I say.

Anyways, I now have a genuine MY14 Jeep Laredo!!

Noice day in Melbourne. bit cool at 22c (74f) but will warm up later in the year. Adelaide had a 37c(102F) New Year yesterday.

So 2014 will be a travel year with the Jeep laredo crd on the road for about 4 months in the caravan (trailer)

Have a good one over there in the good ol US of A from all your Jeeper m8's Downunder.

Bluey

If I could have ordered the Laredo with the CRD I would have done it in a heart beat. Cheers and enjoy the summer down under....

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Jeep Downunder

Great start for 2014 for Jeep Grand Cherokee CRD !!

Bluey

"The Jeep Grand Cherokee CRD has been named 4x4 Australia magazine's four-wheel drive of the year for 2014, beating out more-expensive vehicles.
Judges named the Range Rover Sport the second-best off-roader, with the Range Rover SDV8 in third place.
Magazine editor Matt Raudonikis said the Jeep was a great all-road touring vehicle.
"Sure, it doesn't have the unstoppable off-road ability of a Jeep Wrangler but it does everything else so well," he said.
"The Grand Cherokee has a level of performance, safety, comfort and convenience features that belie its A$71,000 price tag."

Hey there, jacko15
I noticed you have the Michelin LTX MS 2 tires!
How do you like them?
I just got a set for my vehicle because I had to with winter weather even though I'm hoping to be getting a spring ,Jeep Grand Limited.
Just wondering I've always liked them and the MS 2 has some new tech in them...

Funny you should ask! I just posted this on another thread:
We've had 75 total inches of snow here in Erie, PA so far this winter, and temps have been in the single digits quite a bit. My Michelin LTX M/S 2's have been more than adequate in any situation I've encountered so far. I'm sure dedicated snow tires would be even better, but I just don't find a need for them. My Overland is a pleasure to drive in all this snow.

Thanks for the reply!
I had a set of the LTX MS for gosh I don't remember how many years and loved them . A great tire. There were reaching end of life and I might have just waited as they were nearly at 3/32 but I did'n't want something else to worry about through the winter. I am a couple states south of you and I know you get a lot of snow up there.
The MS 2's supposedly had some kind of ceramic or such in the rubber to give additional were and grip I think, but gosh if it gets better milage they will run themselves out of business…lol
Anyway good to hear from you that feel ther'e still great tires.

Do they come on any of the Jeeps as OEM?

Also I will add this here to see if you or anybody else notices and can answer,
Has the 2014's been tweaked on the assembly lines to implement any of the needed changes / revisions already as I saw someone say they are now 2014 and 1/2's?
Kind of a mid-year refresh verses a mid-cycle?

Hoping so but some else was thinking they wait until the 2015 to do anything that amounts to something to talk a lot about….but I have read since August a lot of the troubles have been solved.
Sorry about the rambling...
cheers

Can't get as OEM. I swapped my factory tires out as soon as I took delivery.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

On the 2014 Summit has the adaptive cruise always been a standard feature or was it an add on for the first few production runs? I am looking at on in CO and they are saying it doesn't have the adaptive cruise.
Thanks for your help.

adaptive cruise (ACC) has always been standard on summit but ACC with stop was not production until late july 2013. if you buy a pre late july model the ACC will shut off at 15 mph.
