I'd bet big money that the only real reason they've eliminated the feature is MONEY plain and simple. They've taken substantial cost out of building the vehicle, and you can bet your ass the selling price will not reflect the savings. EM-OH-EN-EEE-WHY! MONEY!
Saving Chrysler money was THE real reason they eliminated the flipper glass. I'd gladly pay to have that feature as an option. I'd also love to get rid of the pano roof. Now that thing should have been option.

Totally agree! I don't even use the single sunroof, much less the pano roof. But I got the Overland and that's how they package it. I'd much rather have puddle lights in the mirrors and door handles too. Maybe that's a mod I can do myself...

Are you asking for the 14' Altitude?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

If the issue was "Labor Costs", then the solution was simple. Put those people to work on every vehicle by GIVING flipper glass to the Durango from the start!

I may have said something about warranty claims but I can't honestly see that. How many people have complained about the flipper glass breaking? I've never had a failure.

It has to be $$$$$$$$$

I heard it was done for aerodynamics and .1 or .2 more mpg for CAFE. Every little bit helps for the overall average.

The 2015 Ford Expedition is ecoboost only.

I may use the flipper glass once a quarter to get a leash, line or water bottle.

That's hogwash. The MPG improvement on the 2014 WK2's is from the 8 speed auto trans.
