As this is a refresh, I assume the steering wheel controls and bus communications would remain the same (I know, assuming is not always safe or wise).
From what we know about the new bus system the grand Cherokee will have I would think the new radios will not work.

I believe the current GC has the same problem, right?
In Russia already have workaround. Webasto dealers know it.

In my Ford Kuga this is factory option by Eberspacher. It's very useful. I use remote to start it and in 20-30 minutes I have clean windows (no ice and snow), warm engine and salon.

It's not impossible, read first post.

Sounds promising! Any details you can share?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

What do they use for fuel.
One site I looked at gave the impression they tapped into the vehicle's fuel tank. If so, would the be equally at home with gas or diesel?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Anyone know why there are two different 8 speed transmissions listed on the wk2 jeeps website under the 2014 preliminary info link?
They list both the 8HP45 and the 845RE for the V6.
Thanks.

That is correct, gas and diesel work equally well but it's a little easier with a diesel as diesel engines seem to have some parts that you need to install in gas evngines but the consequence is just a little price difference.

Just the difference in torque they can deal with.

Agreed-- not to mention the rusted 50 lb spare tire.. I was behind a ford truck.. he went over a train track bump on the road.. next thing I saw was the spare tire break loose. driver never knew he lost it. =)

I asked this question earlier when Milous started releasing the 2014 technology info. From the way I understand it will be impossible to do. The MY14 has a whole new electrical system that is designed to support the new radios and updated 115v plug in to support gaming systems (xbox, playstation ect). Am I right on this?

Yea sucks, but I'm happy with MY12 all I'm doing now is waiting on my two-tone leather kit :-) .
