The lower parts unnecessarily steal a bit of the thunder of the upper materials.
Thats the only portion I dislike aswell. The center stack in the 2011-current is what I dislike. The dash, center console, seating, door panels and instrument cluster are all fine.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I hate Milous and the "tidbits to end all tidbits" but I think Jeep should have a rep here talking to the "folks" and keeping the anticipation viral. The camaro has a project manager who post in camaro5 forums about updates and information/feedback about the camaro.

Will be waiting for this tidbit. Hope it comes soon.

Damn!.. Tell us how you really feel?

And how do you know Milous ISN'T a Jeep marketing person, or sumn? He's obviously well versed on the entire product line, what more do you want? If he doesn't throw his title/position around, it could be a sign of humility. The fact of the matter is, we all get the info we desire, and the prolonging of the tidbits is just a way of keeping the excitement stirred up until launch. Brilliant marketing if you ask me.. I love Camaros, my first car was a 95 Z, but I doubt your Camaro guy has any more to offer that crowd than 'ol Milous does here. I've never met the guy and I'm sure he doesn't need to be spoken for, but in the short time I've been a member of this site I'd say his insight has been more than helpful.

So will you be able to hold a gear in manual mode to prevent downshifting (like a BMW) at the slightest throttle input with the new tranny, or will it be made for dummy zombie drivers like the 2012?

The Jefferson North factory in Detroit, which assembles Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango SUVs, also is accelerating the addition of 1,100 jobs and a third crew of workers. Marchionne said in April that Chrysler would pull ahead to November plans for increasing production at that plant, which previously called for adding a third crew early next year.

They're already here! We've been training new ppl for the last 2 months. The 3 crew deal officially starts 10/29. I imagine it'll expedite you guys' orders a lil bit, but don't see them getting as much production as they would from a traditional 3 shifts. Bc basically, the way they're doing it with this A,B,C crew stuff, the only benefit is it cuts cost a bit. But I'll take a cut in OT to give 1,100 more ppl a job. It's only fair..

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

They won't get as much production as a 3 shift operation. They know this. It's just a way to get out of paying OT and the 10% midnight shift premium.

That would give them 144 hrs of production instead of 120.

Right now, all they get is 108 hours. But is it mathematically worth hiring 1100 people for another 12 hrs of production per week? I guess so!
