Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I would urge you to WAIT until you actually see this truck in production form before you draw conclusions and get down on it. What you saw and what makes production could be drastically different. And how do you KNOW it was a Summit and you don't even know what a '14 Summit looks like!? Lol.. I've seen abt 20 of em, and bc of the chrome, it's definitely not sumn I'd buy, but those who are Summit fans, will probably be happy with the finished product (sans the zebra wrap)! This is part of the reason why Summit is its own package now. Exclusivity. Should the Overland have the interior options of the Summit, IMO, yes.. But we SRT guys are still stuck with black interiors, so don't cry too much.

SO are you saying that the Summit has a lot of chrome on it? Chrome looks good imo when its done tastefully not just thrown on everywhere to add "luxury" or "class". We will have to wait and see the final product. I'm sure it will be good!

Correct, Black Olive will be returning, for the 2014 Summit models only. A new "copper" color will also be available on Limited and Overland models as well as a light driftwood on Laredo/Limited/Overland. Also new shade of Brown for the Overland interior (replacing Saddle).

Same the 2013 model as far as "chrome" goes - grille/body side molding/mirrors/roof rails/fog bezels/rear brow/door handles/rear step pad trim/lower fascia insert/exhaust tips.

More than the previous model. As for whether its "tastefully" done, I'm really not the one to ask, bc I hate all of it. I don't even like chrome wheels. But one of my co-workers got a great deal on a loaded Overland Hemi with really low miles a few months ago, and has added Summit ammenities for fairly cheap using our discount. This certainly won't be as easy on the '14 Overland to '14 Summit. I don't wanna give away what I've seen, as this is Milous' thread and I appreciate the manner in which he rolls out info, but if you're a Summit guy, I really think you'll like it.. A LOT!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

ALL of the models have significant upgrades, but as with all new/refreshed models, things take time to grow on ya. I remember when the '10 Mustang came out, I tht the new taillights made it look like a spaceship. Now I'm a bit of a fan. It's a niche market with cars these days. There's sumn for everyone. But with 5 trim options and new color choices, I'm sure you all will find what suits you as individuals. And then mod from there for more person reflection in your vehicle's character. Like I said yesterday, they're listening to you! And although giving you a better canvass to start with comes at a price, many will find that that base is dead on and won't modify it at all..

Chevyboy, what do you think of the new "copper" color ("Moroccan") interior trim accents?

Copper color wood for the wheel and interior on the 14 Overland? Maybe it will look ok but I hope the current color stays standard and the copper color is an option.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

When it comes to the "amount" of chrome, it certainly plays a role which exterior color you choose. If you pick black, you get as much of the chrome-effect as possible. The lighter the car gets, the easier it is to "cover'.

BTW, does one of you guys know if the Summit will get more exterior colors than the current model? I don't want to complain (I love mineral grey but certainly like the replacement, billet metallic, just as much) but 4 different colors is not THAT much of a choice..

I DO like the new "texture" of the wood accenting for the 2014.

That's what I was thinking. Right now I'm leaning toward red exterior and black interior. Copper colored wood???

But, the light driftwood might work.
