Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Ok ok ok, let's slow down here for a second.. First things first, ALL your insider info abt these vehicles comes from either Milous (or Scott). Marlon and myself are just the peons who build the darn things, and can elaborate on what we see on the floor. So as it pertains to what's coming, there's abt a 95ish% chance you will hear abt it from Milous FIRST. That's bc the info he releases is what he's ALLOWED to release, although he may have more available to him. So it's critical that neither Marlon or myself say too much before Milous posts abt it, bc we don't know exactly what we can/can't say, and doing so, ignorant to this, would most certainly put our jobs in jeopardy. Ex. Let's just say for instance I unloaded a trailer of engines dressed with blowers, and started telling everyone "hey the 'apache' motor is here!!!," yet the powers that be hadn't wanted that info released yet... I'd be history! (<<< trust me, I've seen ppl fired for less.) And just to be clear, that ex. was 100% hypothetical! Lol..

Secondly, interior/exterior color options are NOT gonna be seen as much even this late in pre-production build. These cars are for testing. And the best colors to use the zebra wrap on (to hide features) happen to be white and black. Hence the pics you all have seen. You don't need to test new seat upholstery choices, or new paint codes. Although there may be a few pilots that aren't black or white with black interiors, they're certainly few and far in between. I've seen none. Zero! This may change as launch gets closer. As Milous has learned me a few pages ago, some pilots DO make it to the sales lots. So we'll see. But for instance, ALL of the '14 SRTs I've seen thus far were black. All the Summit's, Overland's, Limited's, and Laredo's I've seen were either white or black. Again, the zebra swirls best with these colors. I check WK2Jeeps regularly to see what I can, or prolly shouldn't talk abt. And as for Milous -- if he drops a "tidbit" it's not bc he likes to play games with you all, (ok maybe he does..), but it's strategic. It serves multiple purposes.. One being awaiting conformation. Another being prolonging anticipation. I really believe he's some kinda marketing guy!

Lastly, it'd be great if we could take pics and show the world what's coming, but we can't. But even if we could, wouldn't that spoil it for ya? That'd be the equivalent of giving out Christmas presents a week before Halloween! Literally!!! Lol.. (I hope you guys and gals can appreciate all this... We'll keep ya posted as we can. )

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Its cool sorry for the infraction, I didn't mean it as I would like to know exact color options for the interior and exterior. I meant in general are we going to see a major interior overhaul like we did with the 2008-2010 (color pallet mainly). Only reason I ask this is because I read in this thread where the Overlands are getting a new, more brown interior. I may also add I would hate to see anyone lose their job!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

No need to apologize, I was just generally speaking for everyone's information. I know sometimes ppl may wonder if their questions are being ignored, and that's not the case. Sometimes I don't know the answer, other times idk if I should say. It's just me/us being cautious.

As for your question, again, I haven't seen any "new brown" yet, but since its been spoken of, I will most certainly let you know when I do. (Or Marlon.) I personally liked the orangey look, but I can see where a deeper brown may attract a broader base. But stay tuned..

I donT think so. Why would they? The interior is really nice and no major changes are needed. If they would improve it i guess it would be limited to minor things. Which would be absolutely sufficient. To me there are no seriuosnthings you need to improve. A plastic piece here an there would be enough.

Unless you drive a bentley you will always find a minor thing that can be improved but i think that can not be the reference. If you take segment and price into consideration the 14 GC will be spot on.

By the way i dont think that the vehiclw information system is like innthe touareg....

It's not.. Nothing like what's in that pic.. And my bad, yesterday I tht you were talking abt the Nav screen.. I misread your post. The VIC is standard SRT and Summit. Probably gonna be optional on the Overland and Limited. I'll let you know if I see one (Overland) that DOESN'T have it.

By the way, is that at Mike Riehl's CDJ on 10 and Gratiot? I almost bought a CLEEEEEAN 2010 SRT off their used lot abt a year ago.

Include me in on the orange. I hope the previous picture is a "tidbit"
I've made that suggestions months ago & I hope that they offer it. It's a color that is very popular on other vehicles and since Dodge uses it I could see it crossing over.

What's this I hear about the Apache having a new engine and it's in production already?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

The previous picture is not a "tidbit". That is my mom's Journey and yes that is Roseville Chrysler.

I used to hate that "Copperhead Pearl", but it's starting to grow on me.

To answer the question about the interior: NO it will NOT be as dramatic of an upgrade as between the 2005-2007 and 2008-2010. Why? The 2011 interior was already good. No offense, but the 2005-2007 interior was garbage. The 2008 improvements made it bearable. I still had to tweak my 2008's when I had it. Same for my KK. Amazing how much more comfortable a vehicle can be if there's a soft place to rest my elbow.

Does she or do you know someone at Roseville Chrysler that I should be dealing with? I'm only 30 minutes from there.

So then what is the "7 inch info" screen they speak of? Most manufacturers offer something similar to what is pictured in the touareg, so I assumed it would be along the lines of that.

Mike Riehl's Roseville Chrysler in Roseville, MICHIGAN.

... not Minnesota. Sorry.
