Especially when they have colors in their paint guns like these:

I'd take either with the black chrome wheels.

The Charger reminds me of my '94 Wrangler in "Brilliant Blue".

Right there with you - the Viper blue is sweet (recall my post here)

They certainly have colors available, I just really hope that they step out of the standard Jeep SRT color lineup and make some brighter options available. We shall find out soon enough I suppose.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Hi guys, i am fairly new here and based out of Switzerland. I am also intersted in buying the GC diesel, which has been on sale for some time here.

Reason i have been waiting is the facelift with the 8 speed and the new navigation display like many others here i understand.

I wanted to bring on thing to you attention which i am not sure has been discussed in the many post and that is the power output of the diesel engine which at the moment is 241 hp. I believe there is a good chance that this could be increased. Looking at the european competition it certainly makes sense. 241hp in such a heavy car are at the lower end (bmw now goes up to 381 hp out of their 3 liter!)

In an interview given two months ago by the chief engine developer of VM motori he stated that they have completed development of a 270hp version of the engine (single turbo) while they are working on a320 hp and an even higher hp version both with double turbo technology. The latter engines would certainly end up in the new Maserati SUv but who knows, maybe also in a Jeep.

In any case imo the 270 hp version has very good chances to make it to the GC very soon, either as replacement of the actual version or as added alternative version (like an 's' version). This, combined with the 8 speed would obviously be a huge step forward. So maybe 2014 could be a big leap for the Diesel GC. best

I was on a motorcycle ride about a week ago and I ended up tailing a line of about 25+ Vipers that were out on a group ride. Some had wicked spoilers, others had custom paint. I tell ya, between the rumble of my own pipes & all the horses in front of me sounded like an earthquake!

Interesting what the Switzerland person (Turbolite) said about an increase in the diesel HP. Maybe he is Milous' evil European twin!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Wonder if the message will ever get through: torque is what is important, not HP.

To quote "Der 3,0 l CRD V6 mit Turbolader mit variabler Geometrie holt 177 kW (241 PS) und 550 Nm Drehmoment heraus."

That is 405 lb-ft of torque @ 1800 rpm which is what is important. Horsepower is low because it peaks at only 4,000 rpm (and is still making 90% of the peak torque).

Suspect a diesel will give an SRT fits for the first 100 feet.

That said the 8 speed and a diesel are a natural fit, it will allow max use of the relatively narrow torque band (2000-4000 rpm) which sounds a lot like my 2.4 l BMW/Steyr diesel.

All the more reason why 270 hp and 600nm would be even better...

for example the differnce in performance between the 245hp bmw x5 (540nm) and the 306 hp (600nm) version is substantial, although on paper it doesnt look like it. same would be with the GC..

Ah ha! Milous, or better yet MILOUS.. (As in an acronym for a title).. I just noticed your sig in the '13 thread. Is "Marketing Information Liason Officer United States" your actual title, or are you pulling our chain?

I know I could've just pm'd you, but I know others are curious to know who exactly you are as well, and this thread is pretty popular right now, so... yea.
