Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Now that we've established that Kia is the greatest manufacturer in the world, lets get back to talking abt these second rate Jeeps.

I just saw something disturbing. Have a seat ladies and gents. And grab a bar of soap bc you're gonna need it to wash your mouths out. Remember the 02 Hemi Ram wheels? The 5-spoke rounded fan blade looking wheels? They were a hit right? Looked great on that truck, and even on the 95-01 Ram. Where I'm from they were a really "hot" item. (I think you all see where this is going.)... Now imagine that wheel in the same polished finish with a rounded outer edge instead of a weighted edge w/lip, wrapped in the same boring Pirelli balloons. With the letters S R T stamped on em. THAT'S what I saw on an S2 SRT pilot today! I threw up in my mouth a lil bit. Smh... They're not listening. If you're an SRT guy/gal and don't like the current wheels, I presume you'll like these even less. Simply stated, they suck. I HOPE this isn't what gets launched. Scott get Ralph on the phone and tell him I said this is unacceptable.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Maybe they had a bunch laying around and just threw them on the pilot so they wouldn't give out any secrets to the new rims. It would be easier than trying to camo decal a set of rims. Let's just hope!

Anything new on the GCs?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

The description was to provide a mental pic for you guys. It's not the exact same wheel tho. But they're extremely similar. I'd say, given the choice, 80% of buyers will opt for the current wheels, or something else over these..

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I plan on ordering one in a few weeks. However I'm a little concerned with the all new Powernet electronics. Does any other product currently use it, or are we going to be the guniea pigs? Imagine what a nightmare it could become if the bugs are not worked out. Comments from anyone in the know?

I'm not sure if the Dart uses it. Journey and all others you listed do however.

How was that supposed to get us going? I knew that wasn't a WK.

I don't know how to leak anymore tidbits at the moment.

Chevyboy, I hate to say it, but S2 pilots are technically production vehicles.

I know.. Which was why I was disturbed to see what they've decided on. All the early pilots used the old/current wheels (naturally), just like the '12s often had WK1 style wheels slapped on em in early tests. But now that production is around the corner, I can't understand why this wheel is being installed this late in the game, if its not what's gonna be launched. Maybe I'm overreacting. Maybe they'll grow on me.. Idk.. Many ppl don't like the current wheels, but I've always liked em. So maybe they will like these..

What do you think of em? And speaking of the current/original WK2 SRT wheels, do there appear to be 3 different finishes now to you?

Wait a second....You have more tidbits for us??? Don't be held down by your burden to keep things to yourself. Free your mind and body of this and share your knowledge to the world! Wait, what did I just say?? I think I had the Sunday church service in my head.

Any new tidbits are good as long as it doesn't jeopardize your job security...

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Just wanted to put in that the order date of December 5th is incorrect. current allocation is pushed back to 1st Quarter 2013. Diesels are more than likely not available till late 2013.

S2s are production as far as body style, all accessories including rims are not approved until final run sign-off. Infact I had an S2 that had rims that weren't even an option when production went live.

Powernet is running in the 300s. I've been driving one for a year now and haven't had any issues. It makes diagnosing a dreams as all modules can report in real-time and show interaction faults with eachother, ie root cause analysis for error codes. Only thing I do not like is that the 8.4s only run garmin nav, which I'm not a fan of. Also the heated seats/wheel will require you to switch screens to activate through touch as there are not buttons, which also irritates me.
