We're not at liberty to go into detail, otherwise I would.. Y'all know how I enjoy explaining things. :D But at the same time, it wouldn't be very Chevyboy-ish of me if I didn't give genuine updates, and left out the bad stuff.. I'm sorry, but an average of say $45k for these cars is still expensive in my book, and when you pay that kinda money I feel like you deserve to be in the loop. Who cares if the competitors cars cost double that.. $50k is still a lot of money for a set of keyfobs, a mere handshake, and MAYBE a full tank of gas. So I try to give a lil more...

But basically we've had some significant setbacks with this launch, however the QC buffer, if you will, has shown its importance, and will allow these things to be shipped out on time as if nothing ever happened. Instead of being certified and just sitting out in the lot for a month, these cars were, ummm -- recertified with updated parts. ;)

So early orderers (<<< probably not a word) will get their Jeeps on time, and those who aren't regulars to this thread will never be the wiser.. :)

Thanks for the answer chevyboy, I can understand your reluctance in going into further detail. I've had some experience working in manufacturing with a large corporation (40 years building locomotives for General Electric). And I know things that happen in the shop stay in the shop. Also, $50k is twice what I payed for my first home, so I definitely see your point. I'm new to the forum, but not to Jeep (wife drives a '08 Compass we bought new, and like very much). I've spent the last month, pouring over the WK2 threads, and am about to pull the trigger on ordering a '14 Overland as soon as I can see one at my dealer, which can't be soon enough. The only reservations I really have are the pan. sunroof noise (which some have not been able to get properly repaired), and the debilitating nature of a QL failure. But I'm willing to overlook those items because I think it's a great vehicle, and hope to mitigate long term pain with a lifetime warranty, as I hope to keep it for maybe 10 years. So tell me please, that the nature of said "catastrophe" has been handled and is no longer a concern, or should I delay my purchase. In other words, would you feel comfortable making a like purchase today?

Chevy already indicated he can't go into more details and I don't think it is appropriate to ask him for more. He is already going above and beyond IMO to provide a lot of transparency we wouldn't otherwise have.

It was the paint. After they got the vehicles out in the sun, none of the colors matched the cell phone images we've been seeing. They emailed the images that JG members took at the auto shows directly to the paint manufacturers. Using the images on their iPads they reformulated the paint to match. All is well.

Warm or cold?

I'd love to respond to each of you individually, but as I've said before, web forums aren't my cup of tea, and I'm starting to get pissed trying to figure out how to do multiple quotes, so...

1.) Everyone will get the same parts.. Trust me, you'd know if you didn't.

2.) QL is updated.. Not sure about the pano-noise issue. And yes, the issues have been resolved. We actually ran 100% WKs (on my side) for about 5hrs on Saturday.

3.) Bill.. "frozen" sir.. :)

Brown / Light Frost Interior picts wanted.

Has anyone found a high res picture of the Brown / Light Frost interior for the Overland?

It looks as though I am going to have to order the CRD sight unseen. The descriptions of the interiors and the photos on Jeep's site do not do them justice. I have attached photos of the Brown/Indego Blue Overland interior and the Summit Brown interior that I found on the net. I just have been unable to find good pictures of Brown / Light Frost.

I think Brown/Light Frost is essentially the same as the current interior. IMHO Jeep has terrible interior colors. The only exciting interior was "Saddle" which they took out.

Black - just to dark

Beige - it is really white if you ask me, wish it was more cream/beige color.

Indigo is interesting and probably my choice now but still dark

Brown on Summit ... blah ... that thing is ugly like a rainy day in November.

I think Sepia from SRT is actually pretty nice but SRT is out of my price range unfortunately.

Ok, an update: Summits ARE coming down the line. And I think we might break 500 tonight.

Marlon or Chevy - you guys see the SRT's on the production line today/tonight?

I'm waiting for the Rear DVD to become available (July) to order my Overland. I was pretty well settled on True Blue with the Indigo/Brown, but I just saw WK2Jeeps has a Pacific Blue listed. Go to the bottom of Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 - 2011 Grand Cherokee interior and you'll see the exteriors available with the different interiors. Pacific Blue is listed as an option. Anyone have any pics of what that color will look like?

Thanks!

Marlon!!!
What's your take of the indigo/brown coming thru vs frost/ brown for billet silver on the Overland? Milous or Chevy, your help also please. The pic that you took Milous didn't look like a good combo as the stock photo of the front seat pic. I was sold on Indigo but the latest pic has my bride saying frost/brown. Help!!!!!:slapfight:

I hate to get into color discussions cause it's like tire threads or oil threads, everyone likes what they like. I sat in an indigo jeep at the auto show and I think it's something you will either love or hate. I know Scott is a big fan but it wasn't for me. I would suggest if you are considering it, sit in one first.
