That page pretty much confirms what I said.

Tested by the automaker.
EPA verifies 10% of them (That's what I meant by them complying, long day)
Reported to the EPA.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

The EPA numbers are dyno generated but the highway cycle is more route 66 and pre-Interstate. It is the same for everyone and a byproduct of emissions testing. Only trouble is that the EPA keeps "adjusting" them.

Agree not everyone drives as if they had an egg under their foot and the most important single thing anyone can do is to keep the tires properly inflated.

That said I did not buy the GC for its MPG. I bought it for its load capacity, towing capability, features, and to a lesser extent, its comfort & styling. "Value" was important.

It is not perfect. I do not care for the chrome grille, it is about 2" too high, and it runs hotter than I like. Not bothered enough to do anything about them. Yet.

Personally, I prefer an American car though there is a question of whether any such thing still exists. Am attracted to a DOHC 6 with FI & VVT. Would have preferred a turbo diesel but not available yet, will have to run a cost-benefit study when it is.

But for now my GC does exactly what I want it to do and provides a rolling electronic test bed for my toys.

Know am odd since I do not believe in multi-purpose vehicles, rather each should be very good at one thing. Fortunately in this country it is easy to have more than one.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Would love to see an interior color change regarding the Limited and the Light Beige Frost in particular. Count me in the CRD waiting group. Looking for a Limited if options are similar to last year's and would rather have a light interior color but if it's between the frost beige and black I'd have to say black it is. I'd choose the Greystone interior from the Laredo if available in the Limited but alas. Waiting till June 2013 (at the earliest) for delivery is going to be tough!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Any word on whether the '14 WK2 will be getting a new key fob?

I am assuming "yes," and that it will likely be similar to what the new Charger, 300, and Dart now have.

Doesn't look a whole lot different from the 2011 version I have now.

The main concern I have is can you hit the panic button on the keyfob when you see a moose crossing the road in front of you because there's no way to avoid a roll-over at that point. If so, what does the panic button do for you at that point?

It says a pre-recorded prayer for you, in case you don't have time, before you meet your maker.

Yes, here are the directions when a moose encounter is imminent:

1. Press "Panic" button on FOB 3 times in quick succession while simultaneously pressing and holding the "Unlock" button".

2. Within 2 seconds, pull down left turn lever signal once and right turn signal twice. (Note: RHD vehicles pull right lever once, left lever twice).

3. Fasten seat belt if not already done when you left your previous destination.

4. Set climate control to "Auto" and fan speed control mid-way.

5. Turn radio Off (if On). If radio is Off, press the On button twice within one second while holding down the Menu button.

6. Apply brakes using sufficient effort to bring the vehicle to a complete stop at least 18"-60" ahead of the moose.

7. Let moose finish crossing road.

8. Proceed to your original destination. Do NOT exceed the legally posted speed limit under any circumstances.

9. After arrival at destination, log into JeepGarage.org and start thread titled "Close encounter of the Moose kind".
