Sorry y'all, I am just venting. I want(ordered) a 2014. Can't wait until Jeep wants to build a base Laredo. So I am forced to purchase overpriced and unwanted option packages. Just realized after viewing pics on autotrader that the powered drivers seat has no memory function.

Nothin' wrong with venting. I think in one way or another most of us are settling for either more or less than we want.

Ahh ... to find the perfect vehicle. ;)

Does anybody have any suggestions for a good replacement tire for off road capability, but keeping good highway manners. I was looking at the BFG Long Trail, or the All-Terrain T/A® KO, but I can't find the correct sizes.

A few different replacement tires are mentioned in this thread about ORAII tire shortcommings. http://www.jeepgarage.org/f109/off-road-adventure-ii-package-tires-18815.html
The Michelin LTX M/S2 is reported to maintain on road quiteness and good offroad performance with 60,000+mi tread wear. Good Year Silent Armour AT and Michelin LTX AT have more aggressive tread with good offroad performance but with a little less tread wear mileage. There are quite a few alternatives in this tire size. You can read reviews and info on 40 different tires in this size at tirerack.com

First time posting but read every post on this forum. Went to dealership in Denver area today, was hoping they had some 14 in to test drive. They said it would be 2 more months before 14s show up. Salesman was nice guy and I was there 2 months ago to test drive a 13 Overland, max steel (loaded they way I want it). He was talking smack about the 14s. I joke around saying after talking to him, I might keep my 2003 Grand Cherokee loaded with the 4.7 HO engine, since it is almost as nice as the 14s

BS!!! Went through similar spiel this week ... see whole bunch of 14 in transit. Asked when I can see one in person but either no answer or some date in the future, usually followed by "I can get you a deal on 13". Only one dealer admitted that he will have 14 next week. They got my business.

I could tell they were pushing the 13s but thought it was funny when I brought up the 8 speed tranny: his reply, "not much mpg difference on the Chrysler 300." Headlights: his reply, "same as Chrysler, starting to look to much like Chrysler." Radio display: "too larger and people complaining about being too bright." Diesel: "referred to the 2008 being doggy, diesel clatter." He was willing to change an order to what I want. I might order two Overland 14s both identical except; one HEMI and the other CRD. Test drive them and determine which one is going home with me:)

I hate to say this, but I think Jeep may have shot their dealers in the foot in some instances. Lots of 2013s on the dealer lots, but I can tell you from experience, once you drive a 2014 you're not gonna be satisfied with a 2013. Of course, if money is an issue, then there's going to be some great deals on the 2013s. Can't blame dealers for trying to steer customers to a 2013, and maybe even delaying stocking 2014s for a while.

#10,411 ·
I totally agree with you. There are still many 13s setting on lots and they are going to have to make room for the new babies coming in! Money really isn't an issue I could maybe be tempted if they gave a smokin deal on a 13 but I realize I will keep this ride for about 10-15 years (since I kept the 03 for 10yrs). So I am more about getting what I want instead of saving a few thousand dollars.

The dealers have had almost 5 months to sell the 2013 models as they stopped taking orders on them in October. Some dealers are having problems keeping them and doing other dealer trades. All depends on badly they want to sell them.

Can someone help me out with a pic? I have read and searched to no avail...

If I understand correctly, the new RA3/4 head units have no disc player and if you want one it goes in the center console (same place as Blu-ray/DVD player will go)?. I hear guys talking about not ordering the disc player because they will lose center console storage, does anyone have a pic of the center console CD unit?

Thanks

From jeepgarage user srt_hemi; he has a new 2014 Overland with the CD player.

I felt the same initially, but the overall changes and improvements won me over on the 14 model vs the 13 with Saddle interior. A part of me wishes they bring it back for the 2015-2016 model, but since I'm buying a 2014, that would make me regret my purchase.

Question for the JNAP linedancers. When the CRD pilots went down the line did you notice any build variations compared to the petrol engine jeeps? I've notice @ WAP when BUX diesel minivans pass by that a different firewall pad is used. It is much heavier as well as thicker and black in colour, as opposed to grey. I'm wondering if there are other build variations that the customer just never gets to see with the CRD jeeps.
