Anybody else notice the headlights stick out quite a bit from the front end? Or is it just me.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Adding my 5 cts to the many voices heard in response to the 2014 spy pics:

I like the front fascia design and chrome grille of the 2012/2013s a bit more than what I see in the spy pics. That chrome grille and the straight horizontal (non-smiley) front lines made a bold statement that befitted the car character well. It made it less looking like the others, similar to the same design approach taken for the LR4 (Discovery). I would miss it!

On the other hand, better aerodynamics (lower grill, smiley) should help lowering fuel consumption. Indeed I would hope that Jeep manages to push consumption (CRD) even further down with better aerodynamics, 8-speed, start-stop, and whatever else helps.

If the 2014 Overland version is to be more chromy than shown on the spy pics, as mentioned by a member, fine with me. My favorite black exterior goes well with chrome.

Anyway, looking forward to see the real thing, at least in official launch images. I am sure I will like the car overall whatever the final exterior details may look like. My decision to buy a 2014 CRD Overland here in Europe as soon as the order book opens, hasn't changed.

If I would have to guess right now, I'd say the plastic behind the actual grill will be chrome and might have a different structure (not == but perhaps <><>).

That would add chrome without an actual chrome grille..

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I love these comments from the spy pics! I can tell you all this... I cannot wait to buy a '14. I'm really excited to see the car in person, and I just have to figure out if I will have to get a limited or if I can afford a Summit.

I don't know if I think it is smiling. I consider it more as if they designed a smirk in the front, like even the Jeep knows it looks BA. I just wish they got rid of that stupid plastic around the wheel arches.

Thumbs down Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I think the true picture for me would be to wait and see what the SRT8 version to look like. Like I mentioned in an earlier post, I am not a fan of the '14 model changes. I love my WK2 Overland with the Hemi. When I test drove a 2010 Cherokee at my local Jeep dealership, I hated the plastic feel to the interior. Whn I was showed the 2011...I went from looking at the Laredo 70th Anniversay with 3.6 to jumping in head first to the Overland with a hemi I have never looked back. I had no problems forking over $50k+ for it, but I will not if it looks like a cross between the cheaper Compass and 2011 Kia Sorento. Looks I will wait for the complete designed Jeep, hopefully in 2016 or look at Mercedes ML.

Please tell me the Overland model is going to retain a 5 spoke wheel.

Now THAT is a sight to see.. As I said before, it looks even more aggressive. It'll make a crotch rocket merge over when it sees one coming up in the mirrors. Idk if anyone has seen a 2013 Viper in their rearview yet, but it's just as aggressive. And tho the rear leaves much to be desired IMO, other motorists won't be seeing it for long. Lol..
