Adding my 5 cts to the many voices heard in response to the 2014 spy pics:
I like the front fascia design and chrome grille of the 2012/2013s a bit more than what I see in the spy pics. That chrome grille and the straight horizontal (non-smiley) front lines made a bold statement that befitted the car character well. It made it less looking like the others, similar to the same design approach taken for the LR4 (Discovery). I would miss it!
On the other hand, better aerodynamics (lower grill, smiley) should help lowering fuel consumption. Indeed I would hope that Jeep manages to push consumption (CRD) even further down with better aerodynamics, 8-speed, start-stop, and whatever else helps.
If the 2014 Overland version is to be more chromy than shown on the spy pics, as mentioned by a member, fine with me. My favorite black exterior goes well with chrome.
Anyway, looking forward to see the real thing, at least in official launch images. I am sure I will like the car overall whatever the final exterior details may look like.
My decision to buy a 2014 CRD Overland here in Europe as soon as the order book opens, hasn't changed.
