out of curiosity, does this mean that dealers will have inventory of the 3.6 and Hemi prior to order open for the diesel? Just so I can sit in before ordering the diesel. That would be great.

That's it for sure. You need it in Europe and there is no other place where it could pop out. And if you look very closely I think you also see two vertical lines in the cover. It should be a placeholder or preproduction piece but this is where the "washer" needs to be and I'm sure it will be painted in the final version.

There is no other modern car with washers that use blades, therefore I don't think that there will be blades which would IMO look horrible!

I think the headlights are really great.

I hope that is chrome on the lower parts of the rear lights and not brushed as it appears. If not it will look horrible that it doesn't match the rest of the trim on the vehicle. ie if chrome trim anywhere it should all be chrome, if brushed trim it should all the brushed.

I hope these are the up-level 18's we'll see in production. Much better than the current bling-tastic wheel.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

The look of the 2014 is growing on me. At first I didn't care for the rear end. I am starting to like it.

The front end looks great! I'll bet there has been an improvement in aerodynamic cd.

Should be interesting to see what the official cd# is compared to the 2011-13.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

The more I look at the back, I can't help think it would look better with a true license plate pocket.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I have a prediction...

Provided that the front clip, rear hatch & lights are interchangeable between the '11-'13 and '14...I foresee owners swapping exterior parts.

If you like the new bits under the skin, but hate the new styling on the outside...swap with an owner who likes his '11-'13, but wants the updated front & rear of the '14.

Then everyone is happy, and they get the best of both worlds...aside from maybe a lil paintwork, pretty easy. Meet at a body shop, swap parts, drive off happy...lol!

It looks like that chrome around the taillights is just tacked on. Maybe easily removed? Possibly not even included on some trim levels?

But this would require different back doors, at least for the US and Europe, because we have bigger license plates here.

Another way for Jeep to reduce production costs
