Another way for Jeep to reduce production costs
You could use the same tailgate with different inserts. If designed properly the exterior dimensions of the insert could be the same with the appropriate recess based on destination.

Or, maybe Europe could save money by going to smaller plates.

Are your serious?! These look like they took the wheels off of the Grand Caravan RT and placed them on the GC. TERRIBLE!

One thing i notice on all of these spy pics are the lower moldings all around the jeep are black plastic just like the current model. I thought that they were going to be painted to match the the rest of the Jeep?

It would go a long way to make the GC look even better.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Hi guys, Im from down under in North Queensland, Australia.

Been looking at the JGC for a while now, and only just ordered the MY2013 yesterday.

Found this forum, and realised the MY2014 is not that far away.

Just a few quick questions for the people in the know..

Will Australia (exports) have the availability to order early January as suggested? Or does the US get first bite of the cherry?

If ordered asap, how long does the production take, and at a guess how long to get to Australia.

Finally, do you think there will be a price difference from the MY2013 to the MY2014 ?

We ordered the diesel Limited JGC @ $64000 here in AU dollars.

If i can get some sort of confirmation, will cancel the MY2013 and order the MY2014 in 5 or so weeks time.

Any help / comments appreciated.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Hey Flintham,

Im from central queensland. We ordered a brand new diesel overland with the off road group wednesday last week. Had no idea the 2014 was so close to being ready. Got a phone call two days ago from the dealer informing us that the 2013 bank had closed and we were down for a 2014 model.

The dealer has told us it will arrive around late april to early may. He doesnt have much information at this stage, i have more info from this site then hes been given, but he has told us that the price shouldnt go up, but if it does, they will absorb the cost for us, so we are happy with that.

Definately sounds like its worth the wait, unless your desperate to get into one now!

Thanks heaps Kayezy, Im up in Townsville and I reckon they are just feeding us bullshit and scare tactics.

They know less than anyone that reads info on here.

Any chance you could PM your number mate.. Wouldnt mind firing a few more questions to you..

Thanks
Wayne

We havent even seen a complete SRT8 yet! I cant wait to see how it looks. BTW I didnt even notice the rear end chrome light cover, I looked at the rear end several times closely too!

In Australia we have different sized number plates too (372mm x 133mm +/- a mm depending on state/territory). Wider and shorter than US plates, but not as wide as euro ones. However, if you get personalised plates you can also choose several other plate types and sizes, dependant on which state you're in, including "euro" plates (520mm x 112mm), US plates (300mm x 152mm), slimline plates (372mm x 100mm), and ones as small as 190mm x 133mm. One size does not fit all, so a generic plate opening is good.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I gotta say its growing on me some. Wasn't a fan at first. It will be interesting to see what the SRT8 looks like. It will also be interesting to see color choices and dark brown leather interior options. And hurry up with the diesel already!
