This is simply impossible due to the fact that this would be too good to be true..

On the other side, I think there would be high demand for such an option and since it's not cheap, Jeep could make some additional $$ of it..

I agree, I would be willing to pay a premium for that system as an option.

I am currently waiting for Jan to get a new diesel gc. So I thought I would ask if there any info on the wrangler getting a diesel option in 14?

Not trying to hijack the thread just a quick question

As far as I have heard, it is too late in the lifecycle to try to engineer another new engine for the Wrangler. There have been talks that the next generation Wrangler will be designed with the diesel engine and truck variants in mind from the beginning.

Now back to the topic at hand... :-)

I'll bet no LED's because the new ML was also being developed along with the WK2 (Daimler-Chrysler) and Mercedes wanted the LED's exclusively since they charge quite a bit more for their ML. That's also why M-B got the 7 speed automatic for the ML and the Hemi V8 was stuck with the 5/6 speed. But hopefully now that M-B is long gone, Chrysler will make the upgrades.

Because it some height challenged folks need a step and they might look better than those tublular nerf steps that Mopar has and not rob it of ground clearance. Every Wrangler I've seen on the lots have had a step and they don't loose any capabilities.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

In Germany you can get the SRT sound system in the limited s (=altitude) but not in the overlands but it looks like they are not making it available across all models. The limited s has a lot of features from the srt8 but a guess ther needs to be a difference between the srt8 and the other models.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Milous or anyone else...do you know if the lifetime warranty will be available on the diesel. That to me will make it a no brainer to me, otherwise the problems other manufacturers are having with fuel pumps may force me to go with the gasser.

Could you please tell where are you getting this information from? It's unsettling if that's indeed the case.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

unrelated to a diesel Grand Cherokee, but I finally had to sell my TDI Jetta. The maintenance costs were just too high compared to a gas car. The injectors on the diesel are very expensive. I had also heard of issues with the fuel pump and because the compression ratios in the diesel were so high, the parts had to be very high precision.

Also, the cost of diesel was actually higher than regular gas so I wasn't really getting the full cost benefit.
