Ooooor, are you saying that the Alpine will be carried over, and available at launch (for me to trade up)!?
What I know so far, and should be able to 100% confirm soon, is that White will be offered on the regular SRT model. Don't know yet if the Alpine will return to the lineup, I'm thinking it won't, at least not under that name.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I work for Chrysler. Therefore I say 845RE.

I am not sure yet WHAT the increased torque version is codenamed.

Remember:

8 - Speeds
4 - Torque Rating
5 - Revision Number
R - Rear Drive
E - Electronic

So 865RE? Who knows.

Stay tuned for more of "As the Jeep Turns".

Oh no, I feel you.. It's them. What they're telling y'all doesn't add up. And although I have a lot of respect for Ralph and his work, Michael Manley is who you need to tweet. Ralph easily gets the info, but Jeep (in general) isn't his baby. The SRTs, sure, but asking him abt the headlights on a Laredo for instance, is a lil off.

WK2Jeep lists;

New: ZF 845RE/845RE 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters (w/3.0L diesel and 3.6L)
New: ZF 8HP70 8-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission with paddle shifters (w/3.0L diesel, 5.7L and 6.4L)

Does ZF just number them differently, or did something change?

True. I don't know if he tweets or not. However, my interest lies in the SRT, so I'm slightly jaded in my interests, and how his info may relate to that model in particular.

Yes, but from what I have seen, the Chrysler version is a bit different on the outside. Not sure about the guts.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, Milous is right.

845RE is the low(er) torque version.
TorqueFlite is the 8HP70, the higher torque version.

So until further knowledge...

I'll call it the TorqueFlite.

Michael Manley is just a marketing guy anyway. NOT an engineer or product manager.

So is there a chance this stupid plastic piece under the headlights might only be for low end models and the overland and summit will have lights that fill in the space... i.e straight across on bottom of headlight?

I apologize for implying that he did.. He's the head of Jeep brand, which is why I referenced him. I don't have a Twitter acct. either, so idk who's on there..
