Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

But I may also add, I have waited about 5 months for the MY14, since test driving an MY12 in June. If I had to wait until September next year to get my hands on one I think I may as well go for a Range Rover Sport. If I could get one by may I would wait.

Why would you have to wait until September, or anywhere near that long?

As it stands now, yes, BUT, final equipment applications/packages have not been 100% finalized.

Seriously? Are you kidding? What's better/more convenient than DVD?

As far as square TV nooks, still a great idea, especially when customized. Flat screen in front, other equipment and wiring behind/below it.

The manager rang me the other day seeking my commitment. I am still fence sitting at the moment because was initially disappointed with the new model with the smiley face. The current grille in all chrome was excellent and made the JGC stand out from competitors. I need to make my mind up very soon to ensure I am at the top of the list for a car on one of the first shipments. The question of monetary deposits has not been risen at this point in time.

IF you are considered an important/valuable customer to the dealership (which you should be, even if you are a new customer) then the dealership should put you on the list now, with no deposit and no obligatory purchase commitment.

Don't get hung up on the styling until you see one in person. What you may not like will probably grow on you. It *may* be possible to change/mod out *some* of the trim components with other 2014 models. When it's all said and done, when you compare your 2014 model "likes" list with your "dislikes" list, the latter will by far be the shortest list.

My question is, are these orders custom orders from people, or from dealers who are ordering more stock? Also, I think I asked this before but I want to make sure: if I place an order when the order banks open, am I just as likely, or am I less likely to have my Jeep delivered at the same time other dealers start first getting their 2014s in?
1.) We are still waaay behind.. I saw a number of 89,4xx on a production screen this morning, and that's probably half the number they want. Now idk if that's units built ytd, or orders filled ytd, or what. But one thing I'm sure of, is it has SOMETHING to do with cars.

2.) M&M can correct me if I'm wrong, but as I know it to be, the process is; If you placed an order for let's say a '13 Rugged Brown Overland Summit with Saddle interior, and blah blah blah, and the order isn't able to be filled as a '13, you will be contacted by Chrysler or your dealer (prolly your dealer), saying, "Hey Mr./Ms. so and so, abt that order you placed, yea it ain't gonna happen.. Those clowns down at JNAP can't stay sober long enough to keep up and so here's what we can do..." Lol.. At which point you'd be given priority in ordering a '14. Of course they'd have you come back in and go over your order as need be, bc colors/options/features change. This applies to all orders. But mainly custom orders. Dealers go through this all the time, so they kinda know what's gonna happen. And so they try to keep up with their popular "stock" and not wait til the last minute to get something in they know they can sell relatively fast.

3.) Bc of the above^^^, many ppl who order a '14 when the order banks open WILL NOT necessarily be atop the orders list. (Many ppl never got their '13.) So you will be of the first NEW orders, but some could recieve their '14 before you. This is another reason why the order banks close so early with months to go before the next model year's production begins. Helps cut down on overlap.

4.) My name is Devin, and I am NOT an alcoholic.

Well I come in at 3am on weekends now, and get off at 5pm, so I get on here, watch some YouTube vids, smoke some cigarettes, oh and do a lil work in between.

No I'm jk, most days I bust my arse.. This is really my only contact with the outside world, that's why I'm on so much.. As much as I work, I'd go crazy if they took my phone away!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

If Devin went crazy, who would build our awesome jeeps? We can't have that happen. Keep up the good work guys!

How are you building 14 if the plant hasn't shutdown yet for the retool that they mentioned was going to happen in January?
