Yep.. Let the record show that the "Stupid black piece" is now dubbed the "washer cover." At least until someone comes up with a fancier name for it. I'll let Marlon give the details on it tomorrow I guess.

Now clever minds might ask, "Well what abt the ones that aren't equipped with that system, do they have to get that cover too?"... If this is you, stay tuned.

Welp, I've had my one drink for the night.. Time to slip in a nap and get ready to do it all again in 4hrs.. Catch y'all on the other side.

Hopefully the premium won't be more, or much more, than the v8.

And, I disagree if you mean the v6 vs. the CRD won't make a difference even if you are not towing or living in a a hilly area...

Jeep's target is to try and hit at least 30mpg HWY.

I did factor in the costs of Normal Unleaded (V6 and Hemi), Super or Premium Unleaded (STR) and Diesel (CRD) in those estimates.

The CRD MPG I posted is the current MPG of the EuroSpec CRD currently used in export models (8.3 L/100km) which yeilds a combined MPG of about 28MPG.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Just a heads up if anyone is looking for a smaller vehicle than the Grand Cherokee, or maybe a second vehicle for the stable...

The all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee (which is replacing the Liberty and Patriot) will launch just a few months after the WK2. Featuring a new ZF 9-speed auto transmission and the new 3.2L V6, it will share many of the WK2 features such as the 8.4" navigation radios, power liftgate, new UConnect, front and rear LED's, etc. A special edition Trailhawk model is planned at launch.

Since I'm a clever mind (), let me throw in what comes to my mind:

In the past, models NOT equipped with HIDs or LEDs don't get washers in the first place - so it's quite possible that the "standard", non-LED/HID headlights are designed in a way that they fill the entire area and therefore, won't get that filler.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Sorry guys but I got in a nice wreck after work. Got T Boned on the drivers side and no the Jeep is nowhere near OK.

No drinks here, but I probably need one right now. My body has to be an adrenaline factory if I am still awake, 20 hours now, 10 spent at work.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Temerarius

you will NOT make:

MPG (City): 22.8
MPG (Hwy): 32.7
MPG (Combined): 28.0

with the CRD. Those numbers are for Europeen gallons. 28, maybe 29 is what you can expect for MPG (hwy). And MAYBE 23 MPG combined. This brings you to around 3500$ for a year for the CRD. Very close to the V6...

Very sorry to hear this happened to you. I've been through it before, with my 98 ZJ. Not fun. It will get resolved. Nothing you can do right now, but try and get some sleep.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Yikes!! Hope you weren't injured at all. How bad is the jeep??

Good thing you have a drink today when I said it before. Try to get some sleep if you have to work in the morning. Glad you are alright.
