4 months? Even if you got one of the very last 13's built it should hit your port by mid-late February.

Just a guess at this time, order banks for Australia should open sometime in January or February. I would expect CRD's to start arriving by late March.

Thanks for the quick reply. Given 2013 order books are closed does this mean any order I place now would be 14?

Yep they said I have missed the jan build run or something because it is full. they said 4-6months. I dunno really, i kinda switched off a little after the guy also said I couldn't expect a my14 till at least September, I love it when salesmen make up stuff.

Yep sounds about what I was told - Jeep Australia have not told their dealers much if anything. The guys I have spoken to didn't even know about the 14 at all.

Maximum steel looks very black in person, it has a purple tint to it as well in bright sunlight, it is VERY sparkly. The way the light bounces off the flecks in the paint you can see many colors in it.
It's a unique color but if you don't like black forget it!
That sounds like something I would like. I do like black but you see it on 50% of all GC here, the others are mostly white. Thus maximum steel sounds like a nice alternative. Thanks!

Could someone post a picture of a maximum steel car that comes close to what it looks in person?

Where are you from Marksy, I have just had ordered a MY2013.. Special orders are closed.. So you can't pick and choose your trim colours or get an adventure pack.. But all the stock standard ones are still available. Our local dealer has 290 JGC on order apparently.

Just touching on the dealers in Australia.. They are all full of shit mate.. Its been a hard job deciphering all of the dribble from them.. I dont think i have come across two dealers that even have the same story. Lies, lies and more lies..

Our MY2013 limited is 64k drive away. Only things extra we got were tow bar, bonnet protector, window tint on the front doors and rear cargo rubber mat. Thats the best we could do..

The dealers gave us the same spiel as being September or later before they even arrive in Australia.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Whilst we're awaiting the next wave of '14 info, I thought I would post some information that clarifies the "S" pre-production stages...

S0 VEHICLES: Prototype vehicles built to provide verification that the production design and the
intended production process for components, systems and vehicles meet objectives. “Production”
means that the product and process design release is complete for the Product and Process
Design Complete (PPDC) milestone. These components may be built using hard or soft tools, as
determined to be appropriate based on part or process knowledge required. Design verification
testing should be successfully completed before parts are submitted for S0 Build. PPSR’s are
required for all non-PPAP approved parts.

S1 VEHICLES: are vehicles built to confirm production design intent, validate parts, and prove
out vehicle and assembly processes (at the assembly plants when feasible). All parts used are
required to have full PSO and PPAP Approval. S1 vehicles provide early detection, identification
and resolution of production process issues prior to S2 vehicle build. Production Control Systems
are used to order, track and supply parts. Production intent containers/racks should be tested
using S1 level parts. Grained and new color mastered materials are required and should be
accompanied by a part inspection report for each Supplier shipment.

S2 VEHICLES: sellable vehicles built by manufacturing at the assembly plants to verify Corporate
and Supplier production tooling, equipment and processes, and to confirm successful resolution of
any CN's written to correct problems found in the S0/S1 Build or testing. All parts, including
powertrains, supplied by the Production Suppliers must be manufactured using production tools
(on their home lines) and processes.

^^^ Very informative. And with that said, we are building S2's this very minute.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Hey Marlon, sorry to hear abt your accident bro.. For what it's worth, sometimes minor set backs set us up for coming blessings (or whatever you wanna call it), that MAY have for whatever reason passed us by had things not played out the way they did. So keep your head up man.. If they total your Jeep out, maybe you'll find that all your drooling over '14s and hard research leads you to go buy one?

Get some rest, I'll hold down the fort today..

Hey Marlon, sorry to hear about the wreck. As much as we all love our Jeeps, don't worry about it. That's what insurance is for.

Just do me one favor, please look in the mirror and make sure your pupils are the same size. If not, hit the doc ASAP.

Feel better bro.

Marlon,

Sorry to hear about the accident. As others have said, take care of yourself first. You can always build yourself another Jeep.

You might be able to do it at no cost to you.
