Yes, February-march should be delivery timeframe. That's if everything stays on schedule like it is now.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Is the silver grille a go on the Laredos? Because, I don't think ANYONE likes it. They might as well close the plant and sell assets if that silver grille (or chrome) makes it to production, instead of a paint matched grille.

the silver grille looks like it has export headlights going by the silver corner lamp. Could just be a primered grille they slapped on for testing???

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Like I said, I'm gonna do more research and post my findings. I could speculate now on what I think, but it doesn't take much to do a lil more homework and be certain. Again, I'm all abt the facts ppl..

Anyone who missed it, should reference Milous' build codes description post from this morning, so you'll see what the "S2" phase means. There's a lot of plant/brand specific nomenclature out there, so that should help get us all on the same page. With that said, we've been building S2's for AT LEAST 2 months. And just built 60 more this morning. Now we're back to the '13s for the remainder of the day. But there are no more S0's or S1's in the building. So what's sitting over on the final line, IS sellable by (his) description. THESE are the vehicles we're referencing in these posts.

Certain vehicles have evolved over the years, yet certain brand identify aspects remain. BMWs split grille. Jeep's 7 slot grille. Even the bulldog on the hood of a Mack truck. It's not uncommon for different trim levels to have different exterior features beyond body moldings and fascia's on a common model. Off the top of my head, the old Firebird and Firebird Trans-Am comes to mind. Unfortunately the GC doesn't have the same length of existence as some others, but it too has evolved. Hell production started in '91, and in '06 they decided they wanted to add "racecar" to the trims. And with center exhaust and no real "Jeep" capability! So anything is possible.. (Although at that time Diamler was at the helm, so.. lol) So judging by what we're seeing, I don't think they're hell bent on making universal headlamp housings apart of it's heritage. (Apparently they don't either.) But what do I know.. I just work here.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Im not talking about a universal headlight design...dont put words in my mouth just to try to discredit me. But in previous gen GC's...the only difference in the lamps were the guts...ie. one had halogen guts and the other hid guts. Beyond that the lamps were just about the same. I know this because Ive had them apart etc. According to you and marlon...the nonhid lamps fill the area and dont have the filler piece for the washer system. That just doesnt make sense to me. Maybe what Ive seen was a design conceptual rendering...but it sure looked real. Plus I have friends in ChryCo telling me different. Maybe they dont know....or dont want to reveal...who knows???

Lol, I've got no reason to discredit you.. The info. I gained on YOUR SITE I found to be credible and helpful in my own car shopping, so obviously you guys are well informed. Which I why I sent $30 to support. (<<< Although I didn't get a magnet, but it's cool.)

And IIIIIII haven't confirmed that regarding the lights and such. Marlon, although he may be right, doesn't speak for me. (I'm not much for the UAW, especially not to that degree..)

I'll be back with my findings in a couple hours, if you guys want 'em, otherwise I'll keep my mouth shut. I only post to help to others gain clarity abt what's coming in this upcoming model, bc I know how forums have helped me over the years. I don't really have time to be making enemies on web-forums and social media. Not my style at all.. But I do apologize if I offended you, as that wasn't my motive.

It's painted.

These are not test vehicles (anymore). The S0s and S1s were used for testing and certification for different markets. They will have several uses. Corporate leases, fast feedback, and the like. They will also be used for magazine and blog reviews.

I love it, so yeah...

At least one person does like it. Considering the sales of the Laredo with the general public, I don't think there's anything to be concerned about.

Guess I'm blind.

Just because it hasn't happened in the past doesn't mean it cannot happen in the future.

I reported two different headlamps who knows how many pages ago. One is a similar setup to the current model, one for lowbeam, one for highbeam. The other is a Bi-Xenon headlamp with very cool and interesting detail, which I am surprised they actually decided to go with. Also, the steering wheel has some very cool detail too.

We'll see what happens, but I have NOT seen that other dual-beam setup headlamp with the S2s. Only S1s.
