Basically I went around harassing repairmen abt the "other" lights. One told me, "I know what you're talking abt.. Those S0's we're very early pilots built out at CTC, and were thrown together only for testing." (Which is correct.. Again, reference Milous' post.) "They were just brought here for tear down." Me: There were some here a couple days ago tho right? Him: "Possibly.. This place is like a madhouse right now, what time you got, im ready to go?" Lol.. So I asked specifically if that other housing was something to be used, or was it canned? His response, "This headlamp (housing) was still being developed, but they wanted to test the new light (internals) for the Summit and SRT. So no, that probably won't get used."

So.. In a way there was two, but there's really only one.
Thanks for all your research, chevyboy!

Now THAT is really neat!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Let me clarify one thing...

*I* have not spoken of an S0 nor seen one in person. I had no clue we even had S0s inside the plant, ever.

I was talking about S1s and S2s. S1s are in the past, we built them, and they're gone now, and I do wonder if any have been crushed by now...

That "base" headlamp that fills the space, I have NOT seen in months now.

So does this mean that ALL WK2s will get the washers (or in other words, will get HIDs/LEDs) or are the entry level models just using the same headlamp housing (just with different bulbs inside) and a plastic filler below it?

If you got to see it on the vehicle, did it look good?
EVERY '14 will have the black piece.. Summits, SRTs, ABCs, 123s, EVERYTHING! Lol.. The (US) Summit and SRT piece has functionality is all.. And obviously the exports that require it on the other trims.

And when you really look at it, the piece doesn't look bad at all. Definitely not worth all the bitchin and moanin that's been done from those pics. Like I said, I got some more info coming shortly.. Sit tight.

HID/Headlamp washers are Standard on Laredo export models. Not sure if that is ALL markets but I would say most.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Having owned an F-250 turbo diesel for over five years I can't see how a CRD is going to save a bunch of money. When you consider it's more expensive up front, more expensive to maintain and repair, and fuel is more expensive I would have to save a lot more than $1-2K per year to really want one over the Hemi. And I tow over the cascades all the time. I followed a little diesel Jeep the other day (a Patriot?) and I thought something was wrong with it because of the smoke when accelerating, then I figured out it was a diesel. Unless of course it's a LOT quicker than the Hemi, ;-)
